Rumours are spreading that CX may release less award space to alliance partners, would be tragic for us as HKG is an excellent gateway to Europe or USA.

A) hope it isn't true

B) if it is, hope it's contained to AA as I'm exclusive QF

C) glad I've secured our 4 x F/J seats to Europe and back later this year

for us - yes
for the airline - makes business sense i'd suppose? certainly both articles above make very interesting reads and in a way would justify keeping first class award space for their own FFP and making it into a more revenue based system which actually rewards their big spending customers. With US credit cards selling/giving points away so cheaply, i can see why the airline is looking to keep seats for customers who have actually spent money at CX.

still a pity nonetheless

Terrible decision from CX if true.
