New Coles Myer/GE "Source" Mastercard with FlyBuys

I have to say that I have never bothered in the past with FlyBuys, but I think I will have to take another look with the announcement of the new Coles Myer/GE "Source" Mastercard. For every $5 dollar spent you will get 7 FlyBuys points - 1 for 1 with Mastercard and then extra 2 if you show your FlyBuys as well.

This means that it will only take $15,700 spend for a MEL-SYD Return v's normally $20,000 for most other credit cards with 1 for 1 points.

Sounds pretty good deal for me... any body have any more info on it?

... or a shareholder. If you look on the webpage and the link to the ASX releases you will see a word for word ASX release.

Mind you I'm a QF shareholder and I still have my opinions stated one way or the other.

Depending on what the 'low' annual fees, I may convert my current card to the Mastercard, but we'll see when there's more info around.

At the risk of sounding like a shareholder of CML or GE ( ), the annual fees will be competitive (around $40 for Classic and $60 for Gold - but don't quote me on that!). Even better, they will waiver for the first 6 months (no conditions), and after that they will waiver if you spend over a certain amount in a year. In fact the Gold card, I believe will be the first in Australia that waivers the fee for a certain level of spending.

One of my business colleagues has a Gold Amex and hasn't paid any fees for years.
I'm not sure if it's published on the AMEX site but there goes the possibility of your 'first'.
Still if it appeals, go for it.

Sure... I also have a Gold Amex Credit Card and don't pay fees because I spend more than $9000 a year.

What I meant was... I think the CML/GE Gold will be the first common credit card (MasterCard or Visa) in Australia where it is possibly fee-free for a certain level of spending.

I have an annual fee free gold amex, because, well that was what they offered me. There were some gold credit cards that used to offer waivers above certain spends, but these have pretty much disappeared now.
