VH-VKE wing tip has impacted a Hanger in Melbourne so expect chaos on the International front for a while it they need a new tip from Seattle.
MEL-HKT cancelled today.
Finally. Only 4 weekly from October 1, and all other Sydney flights will get the next gen 787, combined as 10 weekly.
Melbourne will gain next gen 787 in Feb
when Sydney goes all A350.
Now we just need Perth or Brisbane to return.
Certainly interesting watching this market shift over time, likely hard now offering a low cost carrier product to what is a now a very high cost destination.
I remember the old days flying on the return for free sales on the Airbus A330. Brisbane to Honolulu was one we did.
Attached.
Better than nothing, however updating early 2000 build 737s in 2027 isn’t great planning. I really wish they did this last decade.
On the technical front, I can’t say I’ve seen any operator upgrade 737-800s with new bins, walls. I know Delta did something with its old A320 fleet...
Next week Etihad is announcing 10 new destinations. Been a few rumours around the traps that Perth could be returning. With the news that the Virgin codeshare is now coming to an end, I am somewhat skeptical that this might occur.
The promo image they have released is most certainly a WA beach...
Talks are underway apparently. Melbourne only.
Bonza had around 60% loads on the Melbourne run, however JQ has better reach so I think would crack that 80% mark.
Bundaberg-Melbourne was often another Bonza success story. Hoping they might look at this one also.

Small sub fleet of A320N is coming through, looks like about half a dozen over the next few months.
Not sure where they are planning on flying these smaller buses.
I assume the CHC flight will be operated by a Cairns based A321N. Hopefully not a red eye.

Few hints here, and he mentioned SEA in general then pointed out HKG.
Might be an A321Neo route?

I think QR are certainly concerned that players like Turkish will gain a stronghold of the market, so we are back for round 2.
Historically, in the last decade, they have been given 1/4 to 1/2 of what they asked for. I don’t expect them to get 28 frequencies here, but perhaps 7 or 14...
Noted this on reddit and another site doing the rounds, seems to be confirmed as legitimate from Thursday. Someone mentioned that it came in close contact with a helicopter tracking to the pad. CASA have a 5.5km rule with drones/airports, in this video, looks about 400m from the runway.
With the ever expanding fleet of A321s, I’m noticing more ‘within 24hr’ window downgrades due to lower loads.
My last two flights I’ve counted about 190-200 seats on the map the day prior, and both had been downgraded soon the night prior.
The guy at checkin confirmed they will switch them...
Highly overdue, but looks good, replacing a very stale current uniform so anything would be better. Pilots going from Black to Blue which I don’t believe anyone has, I recall the initial Tiger Airways uniform was blue, everyone else is black...
Is it just me or does this company have major operational issues at the moment? Delays all over the place, cancellations everywhere. With ground, crew and pilots threatening strikes soon, seems like it might be best to avoid this carrier in the near term.
Rex have claimed they have a 0%...
The day has come. Further adds to the confusion around what this airline actually is and stands for.
Rows 6-9 $14 (LH Dom $17) ($22 SHI)
Rows 10-12 $9 (LH Dom $12) ($17 SHI)
Rear- Free (woohoo!)
Tokyo $25/$20
Gold/Plat apparently free. If someone can dummy test and let us know, I let my Gold...
It appears VA has made changes to the October to March schedule. Had 6 bookings in that time, just got 6 emails.
I assume they are pulling back capacity this peak season.
Pretty full on video. I am fairly certain the Aviation regs say you must comply with crew instructions. Not negotiate with crew the instructions. I had this on a Jetstar flight recently when two passengers refused to take new allocated seats due to aircraft downgrade. I am fairly sure regs also...
