Heading to do some of the former Soviet Stans

Thanks all... Having a look at various tour operator sites and on here I think I have pieced together a decent itinerary for about 8 weeks... I had decided to give Turkmenistan a miss as seemed to expensive and a pain with all the LOI nonsense so it will just be the 4 Stans and the 3 Caucasian...

Trip to Namibia, Botswana +/- Victoria Falls...tour or self drive?

Yeah a 4x4 would be tempting, but the SUVs seem such better value in terms of cost... But not great value if there is lots of places they won't let you go... And I can only drive an automatic anyway, so that is straight away bumping up the prices for rental vehicles...

Trip to Namibia, Botswana +/- Victoria Falls...tour or self drive?

Just looking at hiring a vehicle for 6 or so day self drive around Namibia.. I've read several websites that say in some places you won't be able to even go in if you don't have a 4WD, but I am thinking of just renting an SUV.. From your experience will that be enough for most places to be...

What's the winter like in Perth

Sounds like your overly worried about coming to Perth, maybe somewhere else will suit better?? Be sensible and bring some warm and maybe some not so warm clothes... We're even big enough that we have some clothes shops here that you can buy some clothes if you didn't pack several suit cases...

    US election 2020

Hmmm, seems to be the same ol same ol with this US election discussion?? Two polarised sides that never the twain shall meet, a large helping of Trump Derangement Syndrome, tends to be more lefties with a pathological hatred of Trump and pretty much a waste of time following or contributing?? :)

    US election 2020

Its perfectly clear that Joe is increasingly suffering from senility or some sort of mental decline and most of the time has no clue what he is saying... Anytime he ignores advice and makes a public statement he pretty much makes a fool of himself and would disqualify himself from any important...

Taken Free complimentary Qantas lounge passes

Guess you could go to the airport and spend a day in the lounge eating and drinking and watching planes land and take off... Pity in Perth is there isn't really any cheap Jetstar flights to buy a ticket for ($39-50 etc)... Unless you booked a flight and then cancelled it with the free...

    2020 F1 Thread

I've walked the track of the Monaco F1 GP but personally would never pay an exorbitant fee to go watch the race, its probably the most boring on the calendar although glamorous... And yes staying at Nice and training to Monaco was very simple, whether it would be quite so simple over that...
