Not sure where you got that idea from, but no charge for senior's MyWay cards in th ACT. On the other hand, there are charges for our 5 yo granddaughter.

Worst Domestic Qantas Lounges & What Can be Done About It?

Which point can you see? Daver6? I'm happy with any QF lounge that takes me away from the madding crowd. Others may disagree. One wonders about them (the people that disagree), though.

AFF Review: Emirates A350-900 Premium Economy (DXB-EDI)

Meals rather better than on the 10 hour CX 777 new config flight HKG-SYD I took recently, where the wine was poured into paper cups (!). Not premium at all. What are they thinking? Oh, wait. People from Asia typically aren't big wine drinkers. OK.

    Upgrading my laptop

We have PC's and laptops in our house running Widows XP, Win7, Win10 and Win11. The XP machine powers our TV and my wife prefers Win10 (as that's what she knows best). I much prefer Win7 and have a laptop and PC running it. If I really need to (for whatever reason), I'll switch to a machine...

    Public Transport for Seniors

Well, my wife, who is in the 70+ category, has never had a MyWay card of any sort until this week, when one of our granddauaghters said she wanted to have a ride on a tram. So off to the local tobacconist she trotted and asked for a new 70+ MyWay card. The guy behind the counter said OK, and...

SYD domestic - bus to rental car drop-off/pick-up?

Well, I'm happy to say that I have now cancelled this Hertz rental and my VA flight from SYD to OOL. Instead, I've booked a cheap JQ flight from CBR. I guess I can survive it for an hour and a half, particularly after a little liquid fortification in the Qantas business lounge beforehand.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

I don't believe that it is back up, and would be surprised if it ever is. Don't forget VA is now an LCC.

    Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)

I purchased CFAR for a SYD-OOL flight that I now have to cancel as my wife will be having surgery on that date. However, when trying to access CFAR from the Manage Booking page of the VA website, I can't find any way to do it. There is a "button" marked "Request a Refund", but nothing happens...

SYD domestic - bus to rental car drop-off/pick-up?

Thanks for that, I'll think about it. The point is that I know the Hertz setup at Intl backwards, whereas I haven't a clue about the Hertz arrangements off General Holmes Drive. I really don't want to be stumbling around there when I know I could be in and out of Intl in less than 5 minutes...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Yes indeed, but late 2026 to get a good feel for it. And yes, I don't think I've purchased a VA ticket this year, and next year is likely to be the same.

SYD domestic - bus to rental car drop-off/pick-up?

I've got a flight out of Domestic next month and have booked a Hertz car from CBR to SYD (need to get there early), but will be dropping off at Intl amd getting the Govt bus to Dom. I think that's going to be less hassle than driving to Hertz' obscure location near Dom and getting a bus. YMMV.

Exchanging Details after a car accident

I have LTD's. Beats your Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Euro garbage anyday. Although I'm warming a little to BYD's (as a 6th car obviously).

Exchanging Details after a car accident

I have 5 cars well over 20 years old, and I don't believe any of them has this. You need to get your head under the bonnet to find the VIN. Good luck with that. Just hope you have an accident with a little old lady who is fastidious in all things.

    I think that's what I said - UD$120.

Extremely Cheap Etihad Business Class MNL-Italy-SE Asia

I'm not sure where you got that figure from, but in my case if I wanted to select window seats on each flight and also get lounge access, it would amount to an extra US$500, which I don't personally think is worth it. Selecting true window seats costs US$90 or US$100 per flight. A little less...
