    Qantas Wine latest offering

Yeah, I noticed that BP offer too, but thought I'd prefer to buy something actually drinkable (and with a few more bottles). So I'll wait it out.

Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

I wonder how my grandkids would go. I am British by decent (my father was born in the UK), and my wife is British through birth. We registered our daughter at the British High Commission in Canberra (sat her on the counter) when she was a baby, and her husband is a true blue Aussie, who's...

Cash or Card? Countries where you still need cash.

Cash or Easycard are king in Taiwan. Aussie credit/debit cards are rarely accepted outside of hotels and other high-end vendors such as airlines and tour operators. Of course, Aussie cards can be used to get cash withdrawals from ATM and bank counters (but be wary of fees at some banks). My...

Qantas RM Williams Business Amenity Kits

Yes, I agree, but when you travel as light as I do, every sq cm of space in my carryon is valuable, and I'm afraid the amenity kit couldn't make the cut. I would have liked to take it home as it was nice, but unfortunately hard decisions sometimes have to be made. But it did manage to get as...

AirAsia X Launches Kuala Lumpur-Bahrain-London (Gatwick)

Yes, I can't see it being a raging success. And they'd be competing with Scott to some extent (to Europe).

    Qantas Sydney International Business Lounge

I had no problems getting in last Tuesday when flying QF J. Just wanted to check it out, and IMO, it wasn;'t too bad at all, the lack of paper towels in the loo notwithstanding. Of course, they could have banished me to the FCL.

Qantas RM Williams Business Amenity Kits

New kit on QF41 a few days ago. It seemed quite decent so I stuffed it into my carry on. Took a couple of things out of it and left it in my hotel room at CGK. Perhaps the cleaner could have made some use of some of it. I'm not really into amenity kits, as I' just had too mant over the last 40...

    Cathay reopens The Bridge lounge

Fair enough. I'm just not a fan of the Pier. I know many are, but IME it's just too big and impersonal. I'll be in HKG on Wednesday changing planes, and if I have time I'll be in the Deck. Always get treated well there, and the champagne flows freely.

    Cathay reopens The Bridge lounge

I prefer the Deck F, nicer staff and quite intimate.

    Qantas does Vegas direct

No, I much preferred Laughlin NV and Bullhead City AZ, And not to mention, Kingman AZ, which had a very nice airfeild storing lots of SF340's and the like. And little Needles airport was nice, from where you could see Snoopy's brother's house (it's a fact!).. That was before the US went into...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Good for you! Never used a one so far, and definitely won't in the future. But if you can use them, that's fine.

Story of Qatar codeshare ticket desync and uncontactable customer service

Well, not quite on topic, but I booked a VA points redemption for a QR flight a couple of days ago. So far, so good. Then I went to the QR website to select seats. The computer said NO, some information is missing. So I then phoned the VA Philippines Call Centre, and the helpful agent said, oh...

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

As a retired IT Manager, tell me about it. And I wouldn't be all that thrilled if the DSC started on 10 Feb, as I'll be in Taipei and will have to spend a lot of time there gazing into my laptop, rather than doing touristy things.

    Qantas Wine latest offering

Yes of course, but you forfeited the cash discount. That's a legitimate decsision though. Horses for courses.

A short stint in Saudi (and QR Doha Stopover)

Yes, so did I as a DFAT officer, and it turned me off the place forever. I won't even fly Saudia, no matter how cheap. I'm just not a fan of the endemic issues there and I'm not a fan of China either (for similar reasons and won't fly Chinese airlines (CX excepted). Come to think of it, that...

    Half-price Avios redemptions on Loganair

Nah, I'll fly BA LHR-INV-LHR and enjoy the INV lounge. (Yes really)

Virgin Sydney Premium Entry Permanently Closing

Quite funny really. II know it's not SYD, but I was going through the priority lane at MEL a couple of months ago and I was fumbling for my boarding pass on my phone. The lady guarding the lane took one look at my carry on, with a BA Gold tag, and said "Oh, you're Gold" and waived me through.

Me&u - another quality Velocity partner

Yeah, I got the email too, but couldn't be bothered for a measly few points. Maybe in the morning I'll feel differently.

Can't book award seats using Multi-City booking engine, but individual sectors available

IME Hobart can't fix it. The computer (or their boss) says no, and that's it. But good luck.
