    Recently waiting to board a flight Dallas to Vancouver. American Airlines had overbooked, admitted it over the PA and were offering a USD1000 voucher per passenger who would volunteer for a later fight. Makes local overloading incentives look miserable.

    The Plaza Premium was operating but my handful of credit cards didn’t get me in. We chose to suck it up and sit around for a change. Amazingly we survived. Now enjoying the F lounge at TBIT. Boring, but salt and pepper squid just now cured the damage.

    I arrived nice and early at YVR Vancouver for a flight to the USA. No One World lounge. Tim Horton is not my first choice for lounging.

    I was stopped in Helsinki some years ago for an item in my wet pack. It turned out that my little torch was also a cigarette lighter. Ten years and maybe 200 or more flights and it hadn’t been detected.
