Op-ed: Airlines Must Take the Seatbelt Sign More Seriously

This whole thing is a media beatup. The particular route and location does at times suffer from a lot of turbulence. This is well known, and at this time of the year that particular location (intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is at high risk of turbulence. Its not going to get worse in...

    Bonza Airline Discussion

A couple of years ahead of their time, they really needed a presence at (Western) Sydney, plus mentioned web access and google/bing search engine visibility. and a BIG "PLUS AIRBUS" planes, not Boeing.

Qantas Club price increase April 2024

Unbelievable, Qantas are already the most expensive airline, and they are hiking up these services which are all zero cost to the airline anyway, and are purely preferences. Its nothing more than price gouging by Qantas. They certainly can't claim its anything to do with input price increases...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

The way airlines "sell" you on points and their "points schemes" they SHOULD just be treated like real dollars, and be used for ANY seat "purchase" Maybe time for the government to legislate to make it so.

Article: Qantas Slashes Domestic Business Class Fares

likewise, I've flown quite a few business class flights around Australia in the past year, and NONE of them were on the ridiculously priced Qantas fares. Virgin is definitely the go to airline, these days, also Qantas is on the nose, so no skin off my nose to reject them.

We'd like your feedback on Australian aviation policy

Agree with all of this PLUS making it illegal for airlines to target/capture politicians & public servants & regulators with free perks like the Chairmans lounge, etc.

Hertz points now expiring after 12 months!!

Is this the same mob who have you arrested and sent to jail for not returning cars that you DID actually return?

Article: Qantas’ Mysterious Downgrade Compensation Policy

I doubt it would make any difference, the ACCC reminded Qantas that they HAD to provide refunds during covid & Qantas said "yes that's what we do" and then actually refused customers requests for refunds.

Article: Qantas’ Mysterious Downgrade Compensation Policy

Qantas's policy is quite transparent, rip off the customer as much as possible, ignore all their requests, refuse them what they are entitled to by law, and if the media gets involved, blame "human error" and give them a more reasonable solution. I would not be surprised to see secret KPI's for...

    Virgin Australia Involuntary Cabin Downgrade

we need laws like in the rest of the world where refunds and compensation are automatic, and not negotiable.

ACCC action re cancelled Qantas flights

Presumably those being proactive, and trying to re-book their "zero'd out" flight had no status, so Qantas just treated them with their normal disdain and ignored them , business as usual. If they had full fare flights they wouldn't have had to beg Qantas to allow them to change the date...

Change to Bankwest Qantas Platinum earn rate from 8/9/23

You have to wonder how Bankwest's costs are increasing, as they have hiked home loan rates, and shut most branches in Australia...

Emirates Ordered To Pay $8468 USD For Failing To Deliver Advertised Quality Of Business Class

If "angle flat" was equivalent to the average traveller, then there would be no benefit or advantage to upgrading to lie-flat, so the airlines have been wasting their money doing it and promoting it as an advantage! Emirates couldn't lie (flat) in bed!

Article: Virgin Business Class: Domestic Tops International

Qantas is hardly an option when their Business class prices are typically DOUBLE those of Virgin. The A330 is good, but not that good!

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

$50 is an insult, and so is Joyce's so called"on behalf of Qantas" apology. He doesn't even have the decency to apologise on his own behalf for engineering the total schemozzle travelling with Qantas has become, and all the pain and grief he personally has caused.

Qantas to Remove Domestic Boarding Pass Printing from Kiosks

Sounds like a step forward, as those who want to check in with a human, will now not be harangued and harassed by some Qantas employee with a KPI to push customers over to the "self-service" checkin machines, and a manager with big bonuses for reducing the amount of manual checkins at the...

Qantas to Remove Domestic Boarding Pass Printing from Kiosks

So they "would still be able to queue at a service desk for assistance" hey. that line was obviously penned by Qantas. BEANCOUNTERS! These money grubbing fools need to re-consider what they do. They are a service orgination that relies on its customers to survive. Penny pinching and getting...

QF Domestic Fleet Renewal: Airbus 320neo/220 Preferred

Good decision, just when you think you've got no reason to ever fly Qantas again, they come out with this!. Much better and modern planes than the old noisy Boeings AND more comfort for the passengers.
