So this penalty is not a fine, even though it states "camera detected company fines...the fine will reduce"

So they aren't fines then, it was "payment of an infringement notice"? Such as this one (of many) https://download.asic.gov.au/media/d1bbccok/infringement-notice-hesta-s02181251.pdf

Particularly when so directly related as above..."APRA has identified deficiencies in HESTA’s board governance", and the HESTA Chairperson is on the Governance Committee 🤣. I presume APRA (like Courts) can choose to fine directors personally, but choose not to.

OK my poor choice of words, I mean the "Financial Planners", the ones that have to pay enormous annual fees and asic levies to cover claims resulting from the few dodgy financial planners who recommend investing in dodgy funds that pay them the highest commissions. I don't use a Financial...

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

I think that it's clear that NAB is at the least considering it, and if they know through public discussions that there is informed pushback it may affect if, or how (maybe in a fair manner), they proceed.

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

Interesting opinion, that NAB can void a contract by the transfer of ownership if that's what you're suggesting. I don't think so.

    Little things I like

I'm in the "cheap" seats, so cheap you don't get a seat, standing. Went to book parking yesterday for Saturday, booked out. Read further that cars should plan on taking 1 hour to exit! LTIL- continued reading, free buses have been put on running every 6 min from just down the road.

The industry funds will like that, anything to discourage smsf. Seems unfair to impose a charge on every smsf, regardless of whether they use financial advisors etc. If users of a product need protection it should be incorporated into the cost of using that product.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Have now sorted out login. The Gateway shows only have 2 years (from the 1980s) not 4 years as was told on the phone, and eligible to catch up last 6 years (which hopefully will be extended when submitted CF83, and still young enough to pay 2 years in the future). So probably no problem...

    A bit of humour

I saw through 1984, 2001 Odyssey, didn't need to go back to the future in 2015 (no hoverboard 😟), but seeing 2525 will be a struggle.

Likewise; bizarre but installing a battery would likely increase your electricity bill.

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

DM has a small member discount on Bremerton Selkirk Shiraz, and that together with the GET20 and gift card=<$15/bottle. Haven't tried this particular Bremerton, but I like many of their others. Max Allan's review in the afr convinced me. AFR Magazine top 20 wines and drinks 2025: A Christmas...

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

I think that's why he said to ensure that when completing CF83 form, important to note on it that she had registered interest prior to deadline. But she'll be chuffed getting even the minimum £ into her UK bank. All to be spent when visiting the Old Dart. Still chickens... I think you started...

Ah thanks that explains some of what UK guy said

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Thanks. UK guy said that she has 5 years and can top-up 19 years, although she left UK 36 years ago. A distant thought is that you can only catch-up since some date after 2000, or am I imagining that? He also said that continuing contributions for another 2 years until she's entitled to the...

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Things are looking promising, mrsB received a text (after waiting 8 months) requesting she call uk. Phoned tonight and he confirmed a few details and advised that she has 5 years, is eligible for catch-up, and to complete CF83 form importantly to note on it that she had registered interest prior...

Quoting Allan from that article : " She said her fiscal strategy would focus on growth and not spending cuts to tackle Victoria’s debt" Well that's comforting 😟

    Brisbane Weather Discussion

All flights stopped bne I'm in the bne VA lounge atm, was thinking that it's not too crowded considering. But they've now announced that the lounge is "closed", so that's why... closed to new entrants. Fridge looks to be getting empty, hopefully more beer out the back!

    What's your Uber experience?

Link posted above shows the "season" is only some times on some days. I found this on the internet about uber driving in Brisbane so to answer my own question, no it doesn't all go to the driver, my $2.20 charged=$1.60 for the driver. " We’re rolling out a temporary Seasonal Surcharge during...
