    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Regarding the other mentions of the qf63 diversion to Melbourne. Saw this which explains it. https://www.aeronewsjournal.com/2025/12/qantas-a380-qf63-emergency-turnaround.html?m=1 Then there's also the OQC delay in LAX too after just returning to service...

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

Note that OQC landed back in Sydney this morning. Completing the goal of having 10 refurbished A380s back in the Qantas fleet. Does that mean this 7.5 year old thread is finally done?? 😂🤣

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Although Darwin is a lot closer and it's sure to be able to take an A380 as it was designated to be an emergency diversion runway for the space shuttle. Would have a plenty capable runway then.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Self explanatory. Must be a medical diversion.

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Note that OQC has finally been reactivated on Flightradar. So it's safe to say that work has started on it.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Yes, it seems that only QF12 diverted (not looking at domestic flights, but all the other main international arrivals this morning appeared to just circle for a short while before landing. QF2 barely waited at all and almost went straight in. Would have expected the fog to be heavier at 5am than...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Interesting. Quite surprising. There's many people I've talked to who say they're not going anywhere near or through the US until the fat orange blob has gone. Will be interesting to see developments over the next couple of years.

Hong Kong Airlines - Virgin Australia Partnership

What annoys me is that for a number of the VA partners that you can only book via points redemptions instead of also being able to book as a paid ticket when you want to do so, although yes it can be more expensive normally to book via a VA. I would sometimes prefer to book via VA rather than...

ignore this post: Be aware if adding Child onto a ticket with VABF

Sorry, I'm wrong. I'm sure I got a different fare when adding my kids on a ticket before, but did a check now again and see that isn't the case. Apologies, ignore this post then. VA don't seem to do different fare types for children any more. Unless it could have been a booking I previously did...

ignore this post: Be aware if adding Child onto a ticket with VABF

I recently discovered an issue with my VA BF account when adding a saved traveller who happens to be a child with a VA FF to a booking. When adding the saved traveller, it charges the ticket for the child as an adult fare rather than the slightly cheaper child fare as desired. The solution...

I have 4 X QF general lounge invites that i'm happy to pass on. Don't fly QF as much as other airlines now, so haven't used these up yet. 2 X expire 15th July 2025 2 X expire 31st July 2025 Only transferred them to family members before though, aware this sort of transfer is outside the rules...

Experiences with flights BA16 and BA15

Bad luck for the people intended to be on it. I suppose these things happen though.

Experiences with flights BA16 and BA15

Anyone know why G-ZBKC has been parked in Sydney for the past week? It flew in on 28th May as BA15. Then the subsequent BA16 got cancelled and it's sitting in Sydney since. Must be some serious mechanical issue to leave it for a week??

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

What's interesting is it's still got the ADS signal still broadcasting and the pilot has either taken it on a roadtrip after landing or they had an issue when landing, which would be on the news if so. Or maybe the GPS tracker is just giving a bad signal.

Saw that QF335 Charter. Assuming that it's the wealthy brethren church charter again. Although OQI is also on the way back on another charter as QF332 too.

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Probably the benefit of the A380 over the 787 is that they can more comfortably fly a lot further south if need be. Even if the 787 etops issue is not as big a deal these days. I'd still be concerned if on a 787 flying that is 4 or whatever hours from a close landing site and it has an engine...
