So maybe US Airways/American Airlines merger wont be so quick?

I'm not at all in a hurry to convert my USDM to AA miles. Each programme has it's own benefits so I'm happy to leave everything as it is for as long as possible.

Sooner they merge the better - not being able to book one ways RRPITA - IMHO of course.

Im 50/50, definitely like the US promos and as boomy notes each program has its own benefits. Lack of oneway rewards has some impact but generally when I travel I want to come back so not that much of an issue. The big thing though for me is that everyone seems to be expecting a US devaluation as we get close to integration, with this not being quite as close as was expected there is a reasonable chance the current chart will remain for a while. I am expecting the charts to align but I'm expecting that to happen close to finalisation and thats still looking a while off!

Being able to book online is a big benefit of AA IMO. Would love if I never had to ring US again.

Alas, the price we pay for affordable awards.

Of course, AA and US not merging doesn't stop you booking online with AA. What's that, you can't get a decent amount of points at a good price on AA?

That's the issue of course, but IMO the merger might give you short term gain, but at the expense of long term pain.
