The annual AFF lounge crawl is one of our most popular social events after the annual AFF weekend gathering (which this year is on from 19-21 October in Adelaide).
During a lounge crawl, AFF members meet at an airport for an afternoon of socialising, eating, drinking and enjoying the facilities in some of the world’s best airport lounges. As the name suggests, the group visits multiple different lounges taking in the best that each has to offer. Lounge crawls work best at airports with lots of quality lounges to choose from. That’s why previous events have been held in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur.

A date and venue has just been announced for the 7thannual AFF lounge crawl next year. It will take place at both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore on Sunday 9 June 2019.
Here’s what AFF moderator JessicaTam, who is organising the event, has to say:
The location for the seventh Asian lounge crawl has been chosen – Or should I say locations.
A few years ago we did a double airport lounge run starting in KUL and ending in SIN. MH have renovated their lounges in the last 12 months so there is a bit of a change from last time.
Sunday will start in KUL for brunch followed by a mid afternoon flight to SIN before flying out that evening (to either AU or UK!)
For the uninitiated it is important that you book a flight on a One World carrier.
If you book a QF flight (QF metal and QF ticket) you can also include the SIN EK lounge in your ‘crawl’.
The day will begin by checking out the newly-renovated Malaysia Airlines lounges at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. From there, the group will travel to Singapore on a mid-afternoon Malaysia Airlines flight. The second-half of the day will be spent between the Qantas Singapore Lounge, British Airways Lounge and, for eligible passengers flying Qantas, the Emirates Lounge. It’s sure to be a fun day!
As the AFF lounge crawl will take place at Oneworld lounges, you will need to be departing the same day on a Oneworld airline to gain lounge access. Most people on the AFF lounge crawl will be returning to Australia from Singapore on one of the overnight Qantas flights.
It will help if you hold Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status (or have a Business class ticket) as this will entitle you to use the lounges. But if you don’t have lounge access, don’t worry – there are usually enough AFF members with guesting privileges that can bring you into the lounge with them.
If you’re considering coming along, you may wish to book your flights now to take advantage of the current double Qantas status credits offer! This promo expires on Tuesday 14 August.
