Virgin Australia is offering a generous serve of bonus Velocity points and status credits to business travellers who book and fly at least six flights by 31 March 2025.
There are two separate offers currently available at the same time. By combining these offers, you could earn 50,000 bonus Velocity points and 125 bonus Virgin Australia status credits. Before booking, you would need to register for each promotion.
To take advantage of these offers, you need to be a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member or add the Australian Business Number (ABN) of a member to your bookings.

How to earn up to 125 bonus status credits
With the “Say No to Status Quo” offer, any Velocity Frequent Flyer member can register to earn up to 125 bonus status credits. These count towards Virgin Australia status upgrades and renewals.
You’ll also receive a bonus 10 Velocity points per eligible flight taken during the offer period, although that hardly seems worth getting out of bed for. In fact, some AFF members have questioned whether that part of the offer was a typo.
You can activate the Say no to Status quo offer on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website or app.
With this deal, you’ll earn bonus status credits when you book and fly between 2 and 6 (or more) eligible Virgin Australia flights via Virgin Australia Business Flyer between 28 January and 31 March 2025. The extra status credits will post to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account up to four weeks after the promo period ends; i.e. by late April 2025.
You’ll earn the following amounts of bonus status credits, depending on the number of eligible flights you take:
Number of VA flights | Bonus status credits |
---|---|
2 | 45 |
3 | 65 |
4 | 85 |
5 | 105 |
6+ | 125 |
According to the offer T&Cs, an eligible flight is:
A one-way domestic or short haul international flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, booked through virginaustralia.com adding an ABN number to the booking before travel where the ABN is linked to a Virgin Australia Business Flyer account, the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal or via the member’s nominated Travel Management Company.
Reward flights and codeshare services do not count. However, as far as we can tell, multi-stop itineraries count as multiple flights. For example, if you flew from Sydney to Mackay via Brisbane, this would count as two eligible flights in each direction.
This could be a good opportunity to earn some extra status credits before Velocity Frequent Flyer changes the way it awards them in April.
Velocity ran an almost identical promotion 12 months ago, but without the requirement to book through the Business Flyer portal or have an ABN linked to the booking.

How to earn 50,000 bonus Velocity Points
In addition to the status credits offer, your business can earn 50,000 bonus Velocity Points with the “50,000 reasons to take off” promotion.
Your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account will earn 50,000 bonus points if you and/or your employees take at least six eligible Virgin Australia flights between 28 January and 31 March 2025.
These flights also need to be booked through the Business Flyer portal or with an ABN linked to the booking, but note that Economy Lite fares are not eligible flights for this offer. So, make sure you book Choice, Flex or Business tickets.
You can register for this offer using the form provided by Virgin Australia, or by clicking the link in the email sent by the airline.
Combine these offers to maximise the benefits
These Velocity and Virgin Australia Business Flyer offers can be used in conjunction with each other. By combining the offers, you can really reap the rewards!
125 status credits gets you half way to Velocity Silver status. And 50,000 Velocity points is enough to book a return Virgin Australia Business Class flight from Melbourne to Brisbane; or a return Singapore Airlines Economy trip from Perth to Singapore (plus taxes & carrier charges).
You could complete the required flying in as little as one trip, as long as you flew six eligible flight sectors. Below is just one of many examples of how you could do it:
The above itinerary would also earn you at least 3,775 base Velocity points and 105 status credits before any bonuses.
Don’t forget that you can also use a Virgin Australia promo code when booking to get a discount on your flights!
About Virgin Australia Business Flyer
Virgin Australia Business Flyer is the airline’s loyalty program for small to medium businesses. It’s free for eligible businesses to join and start collecting points – you just need an ABN.
The program also offers extra tiered benefits and discounts for businesses that spend over a certain threshold with Virgin Australia. Plus, new members that spend at least $2,000 on Virgin Australia flights within the first 3 months can nominate two people for Velocity Pilot Gold membership.
The Australian Frequent Flyer Training has lots more info about this and other loyalty programs for businesses in its second course, which is free for all AFF members to access.
