It’s the moment many Australian frequent flyers have been waiting for… Qantas’ next Double Status Credits (DSC) offer is finally here!

About the March 2025 Double Status Credits Offer

From today until 18 March 2025, you can register to earn Double Status Credits on an unlimited number of new bookings for Qantas marketed and operated flights.

Activate this offer on the Qantas website or in the latest version of the Qantas App.

Once you’ve registered, book your flights between 12-18 March 2025 and travel from 19 March 2025 until 24 February 2026 to earn Double Status Credits.

If you would prefer, you can instead opt to earn double Qantas points instead of bonus status credits. You can choose which option you prefer when registering for this offer.

Double points could be a better option if you don’t think you’ll fly enough to earn status with Qantas anyway, or if you’ll already comfortably qualify for the status tier you want without this promotion. But most AFF members choose to claim the Double Status Credits.

Status credits count towards your tier in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. With Double Status Credits, you can climb your way to Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum One status sooner!

Before the current one, Qantas’ last Double Status Credit promotions were in October 2024 and February 2024.

Double points with Qantas Hotels and Holidays

When you register for either offer (double points or status credits), you’ll also automatically earn double points on Qantas Hotels and Qantas Holidays bookings made between 12-18 March 2025. That means you’ll earn six points per $1 spent, rather than the usual 3 points per dollar.

You do not necessarily need to book any flights to take advantage of this offer.

The best flights to book to maximise Double Status Credits

Want to book a Qantas status run to maximise the March 2025 Double Status Credits offer?

We searched far and wide, and by far the best value itinerary that we found is a return Qantas Business Class flight from Gold Coast to Auckland via Melbourne. This would cost $1,639 and would earn you 560 status credits (including DSCs), at a cost of $2.93 per status credit.

Many of the other Qantas itineraries that offer good value this week are also to New Zealand in Business Class.

Bali has lost its shine

In previous years, Bali was often a good value destination for a Qantas status run. However, Qantas has massively increased the Business Class ticket prices on its Bali services. As a result, Qantas Business Class flights to Bali no longer offer such good value.

Status runs on Classic Reward bookings for Points Club members

If you’re in Qantas Points Club, don’t forget that you can also earn status credits on Qantas-marketed Classic Flight Reward bookings! These are also eligible to earn Double Status Credits if you book an eligible Qantas marketed and operated flight during the promotional period.

To become a Qantas Points Club member, you would need to earn at least 150,000 Qantas Points within a year. At least 130,000 of those points must be earned from non-flying activities.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can you earn Double Status Credits on flights operated by QantasLink, Alliance Airlines or Finnair?

In general, only Qantas marketed and operated flights are eligible to earn double status credits with this offer. However, you will still earn double status credits when booking Qantas flights that are operated by QantasLink, Alliance Airlines or Finnair under a wet lease arrangement. This includes flights QF291, QF292, QF295 and QF296 which are operated by Finnair on behalf of Qantas.

You cannot earn double status credits on codeshare flights or other services operated by partner airlines.

Can Points Club members earn double status credits on Classic Reward bookings?

Yes. If you’re a Qantas Points Club member who is eligible to earn status credits on Qantas marketed Classic Reward flights, and you register for Double Status Credits, you will also earn the bonus status credits on eligible Classic Rewards.

Will I earn double status credits if I redeem gift voucher?

You will not earn double status credits if redeeming a gift voucher that was originally issued/purchased before the start of the current booking period for this promotion. If you buy a new gift voucher and redeem it during the promotional period, for a flight during the eligible travel period, you should earn double status credits.

Can you get double status credits when booking with a travel agent?

Yes. You don’t necessarily have to book direct with Qantas, or even on Qantas ticket stock. What matters is that you book a Qantas marketed and operated flight within the eligible booking and travel periods.

For future reference, these are the full T&Cs for the new offer, from the Qantas website:

* Qantas Frequent Flyer members who register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) Wednesday 12 March 2025 and 11.59pm (AEDT) Tuesday 18 March 2025 for travel between 19 March 2025 and 24 February 2026, will have a choice of either one (1) of two (2) available rewards. The choice of either double Qantas Points or double Status Credits must be made before 11.59pm (AEDT) Tuesday 18 March 2025 via the Qantas App or qantas.com. Any changes made to registration after Tuesday, 18 March 2025 will be invalid. An email may be sent confirming successful registration, if you hold a valid email address in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this promotion means a Qantas marketed and operated flight (with a QF flight number on the ticket) on an Australian Domestic or International ticket where Qantas Points and Status Credits are normally earned. QF flights operated by Alliance Airlines, National Jet, Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines and Sunstate Airlines are eligible for this offer. QF flights operated by Finnair for Qantas (QF291, QF292, QF295 and QF296) will also be eligible for this offer. Any other flight with a QF flight number on the ticket which is not operated by Qantas including Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and other partner airlines including, but not limited to, Emirates and American Airlines will not be eligible for this offer. All bookings must be new to be eligible. Any new segments added to an existing PNR during the promotional period will not be eligible. Existing PNR for the purpose of this promotion means a PNR booked before 12 March 2025. Bookings made using flight credits issued prior to 12 March 2025 are eligible for this offer. Flight credits issued on or after 12 March 2025 will not be eligible for this offer. Bookings made using eligible flight credits must be made during the booking of window 12 March 2025 to 18 March 2025. Any bookings made using flight credits outside of this window will not be eligible. For full details, see Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. Double Qantas Points or double Status Credits will not be earned on some fare types and booking classes. See Airline Earning Table for details. The reward chosen will be earned on each eligible flight booked within the offer period and only one (1) reward can be chosen per member. If a member registers for multiple rewards or changes their reward, the reward fulfilled will be the last reward chosen before Tuesday, 18 March 2025. For example, if you register for double Status Credits and book an eligible flight, you will earn double Status Credits. If you proceed to change your reward to double Qantas Points and book another eligible flight before 11.59pm (AEDT) Tuesday 18 March 2025, you will earn double Qantas Points on both bookings. In accordance with Commonwealth policy, this offer is not available to you if you are travelling for Commonwealth purposes. Double Qantas Points and double Status Credits will be credited within eight weeks after travel. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. Full or part travel of an itinerary is eligible only if you book (regardless of payment date) and travel within the promotional dates as listed above. Flights which are ticketed but not booked during the offer period will not be eligible. If you cancel your initial qualifying booking or change it to be outside the promotional period, the double Qantas Points or double Status Credits offer will not apply. This bonus offer applies to travel taken by the recipient who registered for the offer. Other passengers in the same booking must register separately to be eligible for this offer. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn double Qantas Points or double Status Credits. This offer is not transferable. If you qualify and register for multiple bonus Qantas Points and bonus Status Credits offers for the same flight segment, the highest value bonus Qantas Points and bonus Status Credits offer will be applied to each individual qualifying segment. Double Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable and for the purpose of this promotion does not include any Status Bonus that may apply for tier members. Only one double Qantas Points and double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary. Double Qantas Points and/or double Status Credits may be earned on multiple eligible flight bookings made during the promotion period. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other Points or Status Credits offers offered by Qantas. Flights are subject to availability and any applicable fare conditions. Flights can be booked via the Qantas website including the Qantas App, a travel agent, or Qantas Contact Centres. Fees and charges may apply. Flight gift vouchers purchased during the promotion but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will not earn double Qantas Points or double Status Credits.

Points Club members will earn 25% more Qantas Points, and Points Club Plus members will earn 50% more Qantas Points. Double Qantas Points or double Status Credits will not be earned on cancelled, amended or refunded bookings. Double Qantas Points or double Status Credits cannot be split between two or more members occupying the same room. The amount you earn depends on your flights, fare class and member status. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. I will probably register after midnight UTC then either start booking flights etc. or wait another day.

Had been hoping this would land in a few week’s time rather than now, but I would have used this offer whenever it came.

Registering before midnight UTC is fine - it is the PNR creation that needs to be after midnight UTC.
