Malaysia Airlines will resume direct flights between Brisbane and Kuala Lumpur from 29 November 2025, after a more than two-year absence from the Queensland capital.

Malaysia Airlines’ Brisbane-Kuala Lumpur schedule & aircraft

Malaysia Airlines will serve the Brisbane-Kuala Lumpur route 5x weekly using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The flights will run to the following schedule:

  • MH134 Brisbane 08:00 – Kuala Lumpur 14:10
  • MH135 Kuala Lumpur 20:40 – Brisbane 06:45 (+1 day)

The flights don’t connect well with Malaysia Airlines’ Kuala Lumpur-Paris service, but the timings do allow for short connections via Kuala Lumpur to/from London and many destinations across Asia.

The Malaysia Airlines A330-300 has 27 lie-flat Business Class seats.

Extra frequencies for Sydney and Melbourne

Malaysia Airlines already flies twice daily from both Sydney and Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur, offering the choice of a day and night flight in both directions.

From late August 2025, it will add an extra services on both the Sydney-Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur routes. These additional flights will initially run a few days per week, but will become daily from November 2025.

The new Sydney flights will run to the following schedule:

  • MH250 Sydney 09:25 – Kuala Lumpur 16:15
  • MH251 Kuala Lumpur 20:00 – Sydney 06:35 (+1 day)

And the extra Melbourne frequency has this timetable:

  • MH146 Melbourne 07:45 – Kuala Lumpur 14:30
  • MH147 Kuala Lumpur 20:30 – Melbourne 06:15 (+1 day)

All of Malaysia’s Sydney and Melbourne flights are on Airbus A330-300s, except for one of the daily Melbourne-KL services which uses the more modern A330-900neo.

Malaysia Airlines also flies from Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide using Airbus A330-300s, and Perth using a mix of A330-200s and Boeing 737s.
