Virgin Australia is now offering double Velocity points on new flight bookings for travel next year. Book by 22 October 2018 to receive double points on Virgin Australia flights taken between 1 January and 9 October 2019.
To receive double Velocity points, you’ll need to first register on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website. Then, just make sure you enter your Velocity Frequent Flyer number when booking an eligible Virgin Australia flight.
Only flights operated and marketed by Virgin Australia are eligible for this deal. In other words, you’ll need to book a Virgin Australia flight with a “VA” flight number to earn double Velocity points. But all Virgin Australia destinations are eligible for this offer, and you can use it as many times as you like.
Codeshare flights on partner airlines are not eligible to earn double points; neither are Reward Seat bookings which don’t earn points anyway. The double Velocity points are only earned on the base rate – not any status bonuses – and may credit up to 4 weeks after taking the flight.
This offer can be combined with Virgin Australia’s current sale, which also runs until 22 October. There are currently some competitive Economy fares available starting at $75 one-way (e.g. Sydney-Byron Bay). There are also some excellent Business fares from $299 one-way (e.g. Sydney-Coffs Harbour, Melbourne-Mildura and Brisbane-Rockhampton).

Virgin’s main competitor Qantas last ran a similar “double points” promotion in March this year.
