Three of Asia’s top-tier airlines are commencing non-stop flights to Seattle in the United States. Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines will all start flights from their respective hubs to Seattle from next year, and each of these airlines have ample award availability. So there has never been a better time to redeem points to Seattle!
Home to Pike Place Market, the iconic Space Needle, the world’s first Starbucks store, and just a short drive from Mount Rainier, Seattle is one of the coolest destinations on the US west coast. For aviation geeks, Seattle is also home to the Boeing aircraft factory and the excellent Museum of Flight.
Even if you’re looking to travel elsewhere across the United States or Canada, you may wish to take advantage of the excellent award availability to Seattle at present. You can use Qantas points to book a seat to Seattle on Japan Airlines or Cathay Pacific. And Singapore Airlines flights can be purchased using Velocity points or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles. From Seattle, you can easily connect to destinations across North America as Seattle’s airport is a hub for both Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
Japan Airlines’ New Flights to Seattle
Japan Airlines (JAL) will commence daily flights from Tokyo’s Narita Airport to Seattle from 31 March 2019. The flights will be on a 3-class Boeing 787-8 with spacious 8-abreast seats in Economy. As it happens, the Tokyo-Seattle flights also connect well with JAL’s Sydney-Tokyo services. Here’s the schedule:
- JL68 Narita 18:05 – Seattle 11:05
- JL67 Seattle 14:20 – Narita 16:30 (+1 day)
There is ample award availability in both Economy and Business Class. A one-way award seat from Sydney to Seattle via Tokyo will cost you 75,000 Qantas points in Economy, 112,500 Qantas points for Premium Economy or 139,000 points for Business. In addition, taxes and carrier charges of $293.53 are payable. You can book on the Qantas website.
Cathay Pacific’s New Flights to Seattle
Cathay Pacific’s new flights from Hong Kong to Seattle will also commence on 31 March 2019, but only operate 4x weekly. Here is the schedule:

But with Cathay Pacific, the charges on a one-way award booking are higher at $383.58.

The frequent flyer program of Cathay Pacific, Asia Miles charges fewer miles than Qantas Frequent Flyer for the same flights. You can transfer points from many Australian credit cards to Asia Miles.
