Triple Qantas Status Credits!

Qantas today released its best promotion since the days of Marginal Any Seat Awards! Right now, earn triple Qantas status credits on all new flight bookings for travel on Qantas or any Oneworld partner airline. Jetstar flights, as well as any Qantas codeshare flight with a “QF” flight number are also eligible to earn triple status credits.

To participate in this promotion, you’ll first need to register. You can earn triple Qantas status credits for all flights taken between today and 1 April 2020.

This too-good-to-be-true promotion offers an excellent fast-track to earning Qantas status. It takes 700 status credits to earn Qantas Gold status, or 1,400 status credits to reach Platinum status.

Thinking of booking a Qantas status run? By taking advantage of this promotion, you could earn Platinum status for just over $1,000 by flying 4 round-trips between Frankfurt and Madrid in LATAM Airlines Business class. A return Business ticket on this route costs just $260, and you’d normally earn 120 status credits. But with triple Qantas status credits, you’d earn 360 status credits per trip. Just four return trips would earn you 1,440 status credits – enough to reach Platinum. And two round-trips would earn you 720 status credits, nabbing you Qantas Gold status for just $520.

Closer to home, you could earn 1,440 status credits (after triple status credits) for $1,707. All you’d need to do is spend your entire weekend sitting in Qantas 737 Business class seats, flying the most convoluted itinerary imaginable from Adelaide to Noumea and back. The below itinerary is on sale at this price until tomorrow, and normally earns 480 status credits.

Don’t forget that, in addition to earning status credits, you must take at least 4 Qantas marketed flights during your membership year to earn or retain your Qantas status.

Be quick as this is a very, very limited-time offer! The promotion is running only for half a day, and ends at midday today, the 1st of April – yes, April Fool’s Day.

In other news, Qantas also announced today that it will be removing carrier charges on award bookings, introducing confirmed upgrades on international flights, tripling the number of staff taking calls at its Australian call centre and enhancing priority boarding.
