Flying Blue is the loyalty program of Air France, KLM, Tarom, Aircalin and Transavia.
Air France/KLM are part of the SkyTeam alliance. You can redeem Flying Blue miles for award flights on any SkyTeam airline:
Flying Blue miles can also be used to book award flights on the following partner airlines:
- Aircalin
- AirBaltic
- Air Corsica
- Air Mauritius
- Bangkok Airways
- Chalair Aviation
- China Southern
- Copa Airlines
- El Al
- Etihad Airways
- GOL
- Japan Airlines
- Malaysia Airlines
- Oman Air
- Qantas
- Transavia (by converting miles to cash)
- Twin Jet
- Westjet
The Flying Blue program no longer publishes award charts, so the price of an award ticket can fluctuate – even on the same route. One U.S. website has attempted to make their own Flying Blue award chart for departures from the U.S. But, if anything, it just highlights how illogical the program is. Before transferring points to Flying Blue, make sure there is award availability for your desired redemption and check the cost by searching for award availability on the Air France or KLM website.
Flying Blue normally offers monthly promo rewards at the start of each month, with up to 50% off the usual miles required for travel on Air France and KLM flights to specific destinations within the next 3 months.
Note that First class redemptions on Air France are only available to Flying Blue Gold and Platinum members.
You can book award travel on SkyTeam airlines, Aircalin, El Al, Etihad, GOL, Japan Airlines, Oman Air or Qantas on the Air France or KLM websites (both work). For redemptions on other partner airlines, call Flying Blue customer service.
