Last Chance for Qantas Points with The Economist

Last Chance to Earn Qantas Points with The Economist
Final call: Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn points when subscribing to The Economist by 17 September 2021.

It’s the final call for Qantas Frequent Flyer members to earn up to 25,000 bonus points for subscribing to The Economist. That’s because The Economist’s partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer is ending on 18 September 2021.

The number of Qantas points you can earn until 17 September 2021 (next Friday) depends on the type and duration of the subscription. Print & digital subscriptions to the magazine are more expensive than digital-only, but also earn more Qantas points. 1, 2 and 3 year subscriptions are available.

You’ll earn at least 9,000 Qantas points for a 1-year digital subscription costing $475 per year. A 1-year print & digital subscription costs $599 per year and comes with 13,000 Qantas points.

If you’re thinking about subscribing to The Economist anyway, this is a handy way to earn some bonus Qantas points which will count towards Points Club membership. But there are cheaper ways to accumulate extra Qantas points, such as through credit card sign-up offers or by buying from Qantas Wine. For example, you can currently earn 25,000 bonus Qantas points with a $480 case of wine.

The Economist offer terms & conditions

This Qantas Frequent Flyer offer is only available to new subscribers of The Economist that live in Australia. It is not available when renewing an existing subscription.

To earn Qantas points, you must sign up via the dedicated Qantas sign-up page on The Economist website and provide your Qantas Frequent Flyer number. The terms & conditions state that Qantas points will take up to 8 weeks to credit to your account, but in our experience it was actually 3 weeks.

Full details are available on the Qantas website.

The Economist deals for other frequent flyer programs

If you’re thinking about subscribing to The Economist, be aware that the magazine also partners with other frequent flyer programs to offer bonus points from time to time. For example, there was recently a promotion where new subscribers could have earned 15,000 British Airways Avios for a new 1-year digital subscription to The Economist or 18,000 Avios for a print & digital subscription.
