Until 16 January 2021, you can earn 15% bonus miles when transferring points from a credit card rewards program to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer! This includes transfers from American Express Membership Rewards, ANZ Rewards, NAB Rewards, Westpac Altitude, St George Amplify, Diners Club Rewards, HSBC Rewards and Citibank. (This offer was previously due to expire on 27 December 2020 but was extended.)
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is a hugely popular frequent flyer program for Australians, among other reasons, due to its high-value Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance redemptions. For this reason, many Australians transfer their credit card points to KrisFlyer routinely. But this is the first time Singapore Airlines has offered such a bonus for converting credit card points into KrisFlyer miles.
To qualify for the bonus miles, you would need to convert at least 10,000 KrisFlyer miles (or equivalent) in a single transaction.

As these kinds of promotions are rare from Singapore Airlines, this could be a worthwhile offer if you were planning to convert points from your credit card into KrisFlyer miles anyway. But you should be aware that KrisFlyer miles expire after a fixed term of 3 years. If you don’t use your miles within 3 years, the miles will expire regardless of your KrisFlyer account activity.
If you are confident you’ll be able to use your KrisFlyer miles within 3 years, this is a good deal. But given the uncertainty surrounding future travel at the moment, many Australian Frequent Flyer members have chosen not to take up this offer due to the 3-year expiry of KrisFlyer miles.
Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer is also currently offering 15-40% bonus points (and bonus status credits) when transferring points from many credit card, hotel and retail loyalty programs. Qantas too is currently offering bonus points when converting American Express Membership Rewards Ascent Premium points to Qantas Frequent Flyer. The Qantas & Velocity deals both expire on 30 November 2020.
