Etihad Airways is giving away 100 all-expenses-paid trips to Abu Dhabi for Australian members of its Etihad Guest frequent flyer program.
A special “members flight” from Sydney to Abu Dhabi will depart on 2 April 2022, taking 100 lucky competition winners and their “plus ones” on a four-night trip to the United Arab Emirates capital.
The “Big Australia Celebration” prize includes return Economy Class flights, accommodation and experiences in Abu Dhabi for four nights. Prizewinners can choose when they would like to fly back to Sydney, meaning you could go straight home on 7 April, stay in Abu Dhabi a little longer, or even add on a side-trip to somewhere else.
To enter this competition, you’ll need to provide your contact details and Etihad Guest membership number. You’ll also need to answer questions about why you would like to join the trip to Abu Dhabi and what you have missed most about travelling. This is a game of skill, meaning the winners will be chosen by a panel of judges based on their answers to these questions.
Entries for Etihad’s Big Australia Celebration competition close at 11.59pm (AEST) on Tuesday, 8 March 2022. The terms & conditions state that Etihad will contact the winners by phone between 8-14 March 2022. (Bizarrely, this period starts a day before the entries for the competition close – we’d assume that’s a typo.)
The competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 and over, and it is free to enter. You can enter on the Etihad Airways website.
As of 26 February 2022, fully vaccinated travellers no longer need to get a COVID-19 test before flying to Abu Dhabi. Passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi will be given a free PCR test on arrival, while passengers transiting through Abu Dhabi with a connection time of up to 12 hours no longer need a test at all (unless it’s required by the final destination).
Get 1,000 free Etihad Guest miles for entering
Even if you don’t win the prize, everyone who enters the Big Australia Celebration competition will receive 1,000 Etihad Guest miles for free.
Etihad Guest miles expire after 18 months of account inactivity, so this could be an easy way to keep your balance alive if you already have miles with Etihad.
Etihad Guest miles can be redeemed for flights and upgrades on Etihad Airways, as well as award flights with over 20 of Etihad’s partner airlines including Virgin Australia. Economy reward flights on Virgin Australia start from 6,900 Etihad Guest miles in Economy or 13,800 miles in Business.
