As far as international borders go, Asia has been one of the last parts of the world to relax COVID-19 restrictions and reopen their countries to tourists. But the tide is now starting to turn, with many Southeast Asian nations now welcoming back visitors from overseas.
Singapore and Thailand already reopened late last year, albeit with ever-changing entry requirements. Other countries in Southeast Asia are also now loosening their borders and starting to welcome back tourists including Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. From next month, Malaysia and South Korea will reopen for tourism as well.
So, what’s it like travelling to Southeast Asia right now? To find out, Matt spoke to Ben Bartlett (an AFF member whose handle is BensAdventures) who recently visited Thailand and the Philippines.
