How It Feels on an Economy Class Redeye Flight

That Economy Class red-eye feeling

There are certainly worse things in life than sitting on a full red-eye Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 flight in an Economy Class middle seat. The reality is obviously not nearly as bad as the image above depicts. But at the time, it can be easy to forget that as you struggle to fall asleep while fighting for the armrest, surrounded by screaming babies.

There are many possible captions for this image. “If Ryanair did redeye flights” is one. “Do you really want to book that cheap ticket to Bali?” or “Yes, it really is worth upgrading on a 737” are other possibilities.

Mercifully, the image you see above is not real! (For starters, aviation safety regulators would not approve this seating layout because there is no aisle and an emergency evacuation would be… problematic.)

So, if you were to imagine yourself on this red-eye Economy Class flight from hell, which person would you be? What would you do to get out alive? And can you think of a better caption? Let us know in the comments!

If you haven’t already done so, please stow your fellow companion/kids underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin.
