Sign-up bonus
Apply for an ANZ Rewards Platinum card and spend at least $2,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months to earn 80,000 bonus ANZ Reward Points! That’s equal to 40,000 Virgin Australia Velocity points, 26,667 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles, 26,667 Cathay Asia Miles or 400 Air New Zealand Airpoints Dollars. Alternatively, you could redeem those ANZ Reward Points for a $350 gift card.
Plus, when you meet the spend target, you’ll receive $50 back to your new ANZ Rewards Platinum card.
As an example of how you could spend your points, it costs 35,500 Velocity points (plus taxes & carrier charges) for a one-way Business Reward Seat on Virgin Australia from Brisbane to Perth or Darwin.
Alternatively, you could book a one-way Cathay Pacific Economy Class flight from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane to Hong Kong for 20,000 Asia Miles (plus taxes & charges).
This sign-up offer does not have a fixed expiry date but may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
The offer is not available to existing ANZ Rewards cardholders, or if you have been the primary cardholder of an ANZ Rewards credit card in the past 12 months. However, holding an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card that earns Qantas Points would not exclude you from this offer.
Earning ANZ Reward Points
With an ANZ Rewards Platinum card, you’ll earn 1.5 ANZ Reward Points per $1 spent on eligible transactions (excluding government payments) up to the first $2,000 per month. That’s effectively 0.75 Velocity points or 0.5 KrisFlyer miles per dollar spent.
After spending $2,000 in a given monthly statement period, you’ll earn 0.5 ANZ Reward Points per dollar on any remaining spend.
There is no cap on the total amount of points you can earn.
ANZ Reward Points are valid for 3 years, but unused points do expire at the end of the third year after they are earned. You can use your points or transfer them to a frequent flyer program before this time to avoid losing them.
Earning points for ATO & government payments
The ANZ Rewards Platinum card does not award any points on payments made directly to the ATO or other government bodies in Australia.
However, you can use a payment service such as pay.com.au to pay tax and other bills with this card, and still earn points at the full rate!
