One of Qantas’ most anticipated promotions of the year is back! From today until next Tuesday, 27 February 2024, you can earn either double status credits or double Qantas points on all new Qantas flight bookings.
To take advantage of this offer, you’ll first need to register and choose between double status credits or double points. You can register either on the Qantas website or in the Qantas App.
Most Australian Frequent Flyer members would choose to earn double status credits, as this can help them to renew or attain Qantas status. However, if you don’t fly enough to earn status or don’t need any extra status credits, the double points could also be worthwhile.
You would ordinarily need to earn 700 status credits to reach Qantas Gold status, or 600 status credits to renew Qantas Gold. By booking with double status credits, the amount of flying you’d need to do is effectively halved. Qantas Gold benefits include domestic Qantas Club and International Business Lounge access, priority check-in, boarding and security, extra baggage allowance and priority access to Qantas international Classic Reward seats.
As an example, you would normally earn 160 status credits for a return Qantas Business Class flight from Sydney to Auckland. With double status credits, that increases to 320 status credits.
The February 2024 double status credits offer could also get you closer to Qantas Platinum status. Platinum benefits include international First Lounge access, domestic Business Lounge access (including on arrival) and the ability to request additional Classic Reward seats on Qantas flights.
Offer terms & conditions
To get double Qantas points or status credits, you’d need to register for the offer and book any Qantas marketed and operated flight/s between 21-27 February 2024. Flights with travel dates between 28 February 2024 and 14 February 2025 are eligible to earn double points or status credits.
Qantas flights with “QF” flight numbers that are operated by QantasLink or other affiliate airlines (such as Alliance Airlines) are eligible to earn double status credits. Codeshare flights operated by partner airlines such as Emirates or American Airlines are not eligible.
You can book an unlimited number of flights as part of this offer. You’ll earn double points or status credits for all flights, as long as they’re booked within the promotional period.
During Qantas’ last Double Status Credits offer in March 2023, one frequent flyer pre-booked 68 flights earning them 12,300 status credits. (This is more than three times the status credits needed to earn Platinum One status.)

Note that some trans-Tasman Qantas Business Class airfares are cheaper when booking originating in New Zealand, rather than Australia.

Virgin Australia’s Double Velocity Points offer
For those in the Virgin Australia camp, Velocity Frequent Flyer is also running a double Velocity points offer until 25 February 2024. If you register by this date and fly on Virgin Australia by 30 June 2024, you can earn double Velocity points.
