Jetstar already offers cheap flights “all day, every day” – as the airlines tagline goes. But you can often get the best deals on Jetstar flights during a Friday Fare Frenzy sale.

What is Jetstar’s Friday Fare Frenzy?

To celebrate getting through to the end of the week, Jetstar runs a weekly “Friday Fare Frenzy” sale on Friday afternoons.

While the discounts, routes and travel dates that Jetstar puts on sale vary from week to week, you can often find great deals to a variety of domestic and international destinations, ranging from Uluru to Vanuatu. You might even be able to pick up a cheap flight to Bali on Jetstar’s new A321neo LR.

For example, the Friday Fare Frenzy on 15 November 2024 had Sydney-Gold Coast for $56. This is $10 less than the usual lowest pricing, according to Google Flights:

Sometimes, you can even pick up flights for less than $50 each way. Melbourne-Hobart, Melbourne-Launceston, Sydney-Ballina, Sydney-Gold Coast and Sydney-Avalon are often among the cheapest options.

These fares are only available for a limited time – usually from 12pm until 8pm, Sydney/Melbourne time. That said, Jetstar sometimes extends this into a “Weekend Fare Frenzy” sale, with discounted flights available from Friday until the following Monday evening.

The cheapest flights do sell out quite quickly. So you should book as soon as you can!

Club Jetstar members can also get flights that are cheaper than publicly available. When viewing the sale fares on Jetstar’s website, the Club Jetstar member pricing is shown in purple.

Are there any restrictions with Jetstar’s Friday Fare Frenzy?

Jetstar includes only select destinations in the weekly sales. You might also find that sale fares are only available in one direction, or that the window of available travel dates is quite narrow.

Besides this, there are the usual restrictions that apply when booking a Jetstar Starter fare. This is the lowest of Jetstar’s fare bundles, with only 7kg of carry on baggage and no seat selection included.

Jetstar separately offers a Price Beat Guarantee, offering to beat any comparable flights by 10%. So if the return flights don’t line up, you could combine the Friday Fare Frenzy with the Price Beat Guarantee to get cheaper flights on Jetstar!

How can you take advantage of Jetstar’s cheap flights?

Each Friday afternoon, you’ll find a list of all the sale fares for that day on the Jetstar Friday Fare Frenzy website. Jetstar also sends out emails every Friday to Jetmail subscribers with highlighted deals, so make sure to subscribe to that if you’re interested!

You’ll need to be flexible – both with dates and even destinations. You might need to wait patiently until Jetstar features your desired destination. The best sale fares are often for travel dates far in advance, and peak periods are usually excluded.

If you do find a cheap flight, you can choose to add a Flex or Flex Plus bundle to earn Qantas points and status credits. These bundles cost extra, but also come with add-ons such as checked baggage, meals and increased flexibility.
