Air Canada’s Aeroplan frequent flyer program is one that flies under the radar for most Australians. But it’s one that perhaps deserves more attention.
Aeroplan was redesigned and relaunched in 2020 by people who are themselves aviation geeks and avid frequent flyers. They “get” what motivates points and status collectors, and they’ve done a lot of work to make this a really competitive loyalty program.
As Air Canada is part of Star Alliance, you can redeem Aeroplan points to fly across the Star Alliance network. You can also redeem points with over 20 non-Star Alliance partners including Virgin Australia, Etihad, Air Mauritius and two brand new partners – SunExpress and Bamboo Airways. The Bamboo Airways partnership is particularly lucrative because this new Vietnamese airline offers up to 4 Business Class award seats per flight to and from Australia!
In episode 97 of AFF on Air, learn more about why Aeroplan is such good value and how to maximise Aeroplan points to fly from Australia to Asia or Europe.
In this episode, Matt also talks about a new way of earning Aeroplan points in Australia. Plus, find out how to supercharge your Flybuys and Everyday Rewards points when shopping at Coles and Woolies!
