International travel is gradually returning to normal, but heading overseas in 2022 still involves some unique challenges.

One factor is the current chaos of the global aviation industry, which has largely been caught off guard and is struggling to keep up with demand. This is leading to many flight cancellations and checked bags going missing.

Another factor that has defined international travel during and immediately after the pandemic is the heightened cross-border travel requirements. Many countries still have additional COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, such as extra paperwork, COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements. A few countries, even in August 2022, still require international arrivals to quarantine.

In this podcast, Matt explores two very handy travel tools that can help you navigate the current international travel climate. One is Apple AirTags, which can help you to track the location of your checked baggage in real time.

The other is Sherpa, a very handy online resource that shows you exactly where you can travel and what’s required to get there.

The Sherpa website is easy to use and contains useful information about transit & entry rules.

This podcast includes an interview with David Riley, Chief of Staff at Sherpa, about how Sherpa has helped travellers to navigate the ever-changing international travel requirements of the past few years.

Sherpa has played an invaluable role during and on the other side of the pandemic for both travellers and airlines. As well as helping consumers navigate the complex web of travel restrictions that was created, Sherpa also helped airlines by giving their customers more confidence to book tickets – allowing them to get their planes back in the air and staff back to work sooner.

In this interview, find out how Sherpa seized the opportunity provided by the pandemic, how it manages to maintain all the complex information it provides, and what the company has planned for the future.
