A member of Star Alliance, Asiana Airlines is a South Korean airline based in Seoul. It operates an extensive network of domestic and international flights, including to Australia, Europe and the United States.

On most flights, Asiana offers Economy and Business Class seating. There are some exceptions (for example, there is no Business Class on Boeing 767 and a small number of A321 services). Asiana also offers First Class, sold as “Business Suites” on its Airbus A380.

On domestic flights within South Korea, no meal service is provided in Business Class. But Asiana offers a very good Business Class service on international flights including its Sydney-Seoul (Incheon) route.

You can redeem points in any Star Alliance frequent flyer program, such as Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles, to book award seats on Asiana Airlines.

Here’s an overview of the different Business Class seats you can expect on Asiana Airlines…

Asiana Airbus A321 Business Class seats

Business class is offered on some Asiana A320, A321 and A321neo flights. On these aircraft, Business Class has recliner seats in a standard 2-2 layout.

There’s no on-board Wi-Fi, but you’ll get a personal seat-back entertainment screen on Airbus A321 flights or wireless streaming to your own device on A321neo flights.

Asiana’s A330-300 Business Class seats are older style angle-flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Although you do get a well-padded bed, it doesn’t quite recline all the way to being fully lie-flat.

There’s no Wi-Fi, but there is a TV screen on the back of each seat with a somewhat outdated in-flight entertainment system.

If you’re a solo traveller, you may prefer one of the seats in the middle section of the aircraft for exclusive aisle access.

Asiana has reconfigured its Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with “Business Smartium” seats. These lie-flat seats are in a 1-2-1 layout, so every passenger enjoys direct access to the aisle. Each seat also has a personal seat-back entertainment screen with a modern in-flight entertainment system. Wi-Fi is not available.

Solo travellers may prefer an “A” or “K” window seat in an even-numbered row, as these are directly beside the window and have maximum privacy.

Couples may prefer the E/F middle seat pairs in odd-numbered rows as these seats are directly beside each other.

Asiana has also installed similar Business Smartium seats on its Airbus A350 jets. These comfortable lie-flat seats come in the same 1-2-1 layout, but in-flight Wi-Fi is also available on the Airbus A350-900.

The Asiana Airbus A380 also features lie-flat Business Smartium seats in a comfortable 1-2-1 layout.

I flew the a330 from Almaty to ICN and the seat was horrendous. It was literally the seat cloth and then the mechanics of the seat.
No padding whatsoever, and of course it’s angled seat.
I think they were rated a 5 star airline which is incredible.
Service and food were great

About 7 years ago I flew to Uzbekistan with Asiana Airlines in economy and I was dreading it. The flight from Sydney to Seoul was very comfortable and great service. The flight to Tashkent horrendous 😫
