Qantas Frequent Flyer is offering 10 status credits per night on selected hotel and holiday bookings for a limited time, up to a maximum of 100 status credits. This offer is available for eligible Qantas Hotels and Qantas Holidays bookings made from 26 until 31 December 2021.

A range of domestic and international Qantas Hotels and Qantas Holidays packages are eligible for the bonus status credits offer. For example, you could earn 20 bonus status credits by staying two nights at Peppers Silo Launceston. This particular package starts from $418 for 2 nights for two adults and includes a room upgrade, wine & Tasmanian truffles on arrival, and a late check-out.

Hotel packages at Reef House Palm Cove in Queensland are also eligible to earn 10 bonus status credits per night.

Eligible overseas hotels include The Fullerton Singapore, Angsana Phuket, Fiji Tokoriki Island Resort and Shangri-La Yanuca Island in Fiji.

You can view the full list of eligible hotel deals and book on the Qantas Hotels website. Holiday offers are available on the Qantas Holidays website. You can also read the full terms & conditions on the relevant Qantas websites.

You can make multiple bookings to earn up to a maximum of 100 status credits in total. You can also add extra nights on top of the included nights with any of the advertised packages, and earn more status credits for the extra nights.

You’ll also earn at least 3 Qantas points per $1 spent on Qantas Hotels & Holidays bookings when you enter your Qantas Frequent Flyer number. But outside of this promotion, status credits are not normally earned on hotel bookings.

Throughout COVID-19 Qantas has offered a range of ways to earn status credits, which count towards your elite status tier, without flying. The most recent such offer was in October 2021, when Qantas offered bonus status credits for redeeming points at the Qantas Rewards Store. In recent months, Qantas has also offered bonus status credits for buying health insurance, redeeming points for wine, filling up at BP and purchasing Qantas Club memberships.

Qantas previously gave bonus status credits on luxury hotel bookings in July 2020. During that previous promotion, the number of status credits earned varied from 5-15 per night depending on the cost of the booking. (This is not the case this time, with all eligible hotel bookings earning 10 status credits per night.)

Even if your existing Qantas status will be automatically extended, the status credits from this offer can be rolled over into your next membership year if you’re eligible for that. The status credits also count towards your lifetime Qantas status credit tally.

Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program is currently offering an opportunity to earn Velocity status credits on the ground by booking a car rental from Hertz.
