Today's MH149, the scheduled 1030 arrival ex KUL is more than two and a half hours late and not due into MEL until a forecast 1308. B772 9M-MRN is the operating aircraft.

Unlike QF's 'enhanced' LAX and LHR A388 schedules into and out of MEL, there is a bit of slack in the time on the ground in MEL for this MH rotation so one would hope that unless unplanned maintenance is required, the 1510 hours MH148 back to KUL should depart on time or close to it.

Re: General Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

MH143 from KUL to SYD has only arrived at the latter a few minutes ago, more than two hours late, meaning that MH142 due out at 0725 - a tight turnaround given how busy SYD is with arrivals wanting to all come in just after lifting of the curfew at 0600 - is delayed until a claimed 0920, though more likely around 0940.

Re: General Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Saturday 23 May's MH149 arrival in MEL ex KUL is delayed from 0945 to 1530, with the normal 1405 hours departure of MH148 back to KUL delayed until about 1630 today.

Re: General Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

MH149, the 2350 hours (Thursday 28 May) KUL to MEL is running about five and a half hours late and is not due into MEL until about 1515 this afternoon. MH148 back to KUL has been delayed from 1405 to a forecast 1625 hours departure.

With the 'restructure' (a euphemism for 'mass sackings of 6000 staff'), one cannot help but consider whether such delays may become more frequent. One problem with such staff rationalisations is that sometimes the 'better' or 'more skilled' staff leave, and the laggards are left to run the ship with relatively less knowledge.

Re: General Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Tried to stay loyal but with only two days notice they cancelled my return flight 18th May purchased two months prior offered me a full refund but I was then forced to buy the replacement flight at much higher price.
Enrich member for many years, was left with a 12 hour layover in KL, ground staff refused to remove my bags so I could catch earlier flight home after paying 150 extra again at one desk then second desk reversed decision. So I had pleasure of paying more for flight, 12 hours at kl and poor treatment generally. Wont be worrying about using them again. Seems the staff restructure has lots of effects not just delays. Over two months 6 flights all Malaysian Airlines most planes half empty.

MH139, the 2220 hours (Friday 17 July) from KUL to ADL (A333 9M-MTE) is about to land at 1034 instead of 0700. MH 149 (A333 9M-MTM) is three minutes shy of two hours late and should be in MEL at 1142 after its flight from KUL.

Re: General Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

MH148 is scheduled to depart MEL for KUL at 1405 but has kept on being further delayed with the latest suggestion being that it will be off blocks at 2300 tonight (Thursday 23 July.)

I hope that breakfast has been loaded!

MH141 (A333 9M-MTN) took off from KUL at 1012 this morning (Friday 2 October), about an hour late on its 0900 ex blocks time and hence is not due in SYD until 2010 hours instead of 1915. As the return flight is not due to depart until 2140, it should (just) be on time.

On 5 October, MH129 (A333 0M-MTD) took off from KUL at 1154, about an hour late (time ex the gate is 1030) and therefore will not arrive MEL tonight until about 2220, 55 minutes behind time. In theory this ought not delay MH128 back to KUL as that is an 0105 hours Tuesday 6 departure.

MH129 is an expected hour and 50 minutes late, arriving MEL ex KUL at 2315 on Tuesday 6 October. The flight back to KL, MH128 is expected to be unaffected as it is timetabled out at 2315 hours.

MH129, the 1015 from KUL to MEL did not take off until 1157 and hence should arrive about 64 minutes late at 2214 on Monday 26 October 2015. A333 9M-MTE is the plane. As the return flight MH128 is not timetabled to depart until 0045 on Tuesday, it ought be unaffected by this southbound delay.

MH139, the four times a week flight from KUL to ADL is timetabled ex the Malaysian capital at 2220 but last night (Monday 26 October) did not take off until 2330. It is hence due in ADL at 0836, 41 minutes late which will at least slightly delay the return MH136 (which strangely does not have a consecutive number.) A333 9M-MTL is the aircraft involved.

MH149. the 2150 from KUL to MEL (9M-MTM) took off at 2317 and therefore should arrive at 0936, 51 minutes behind the 'table. As MH148 does not then depart for KUL until 1450 this afternoon it ought not be affected.

MH129 from KUL to MEL is five and a half hours late tonight and not due at MEL until 0240 hours on Monday 2 November. MH126 has been altered from an 0045 hours departure to an 0355, perhaps about the worst time I could think of to leave Oz.

MH149, the 2150 hours Tuesday 1 December flight from KUL to MEL did not take off until 2356 and hence will arrive MEL on Wed 2 at about 1005, 80 minutes late. A333 9M-MTI is operating it.

It looks like an MH aircraft may have become defective, as MH128 back to KUL has become 'MH128D" and has been rescheduled to depart from MEL on Thursday 3 December at 0045 instead of 2230 hours on Tuesday 1 December.

From what ATC is suggesting, it looks like MH149, the 2150 hours from KUL to MEL on Friday 4 December is diverting to ADL on Saturday 5 December. The captain has just said he will 'refuel in Adelaide and return to Melbourne.' The aircraft is A333 9M-MTJ. It turned back to ADL at about Rupanyup in Victoria, and had been running early before being placed in a holding pattern.

Was there some brief fog at MEL - it was not forecast as far as I could ascertain.

UPDATE: The 'second leg' is due to land in MEL at 1151, three hours and six minutes late but should not delay this afternoon's return flight.

At approximately 2130 hours on Sunday 6 December 2015, MH129 from KUL to MEL (A333 9M-MTF) appears to have had a missed approach as it was at a low altitude approaching from the north and suddenly again climbed.

Upon approach it was following VA284, an E190, in which did the same thing. VA284 appears to be landing from the east at about 2137.

On 11 December 2015, MH141, the daytime 0900 from KUL to SYD did not take off until 1055 and therefore will arrive at 2114 instead of 2015 tonight. 9M-MTJ is the A333. As the return MH140 is timetabled to depart from SYD at 2140 tonight, it will be late - 2220 as a new departure time might be a rough guess.

The Friday 11 December 2330 hours MH123 from KUL did not take off until 0137 on Saturday 12 and therefore will arrive in SYD 91 minutes behind schedule at 1216 this afternoon. A333 9M-MTN is the craft. This should not delay the returning MH122 as it is not timetabled out until 1530 hours.

MH139, the 2220 hours Friday ex KUL for ADL is comparatively even more behind time, having taken off at 0255 and being an expected 255 minutes late into ADL at 1210 on Saturday 12 December. 9M-MTG is the plane. AS MH136 should depart back to KUL at 0930 South Australian time, it will be about four hours late at a minimum.

MH129, the Saturday 12 December 1015 KUL to MEL took off at 1425 and is about to land and then pull up at the gate at 0045 on Sunday 13 December, 215 minutes late. MH128 returning has been altered from 0045 to 0155, a realistic change in the circumstances.
