Just received an email from AMEX explaining I can pay my staff super using my AMEX Business card. I haven't read all the details yet but they do it thru this company
Ozedi
You seem to need to register with Ozedi and pay monthly fee then there is also a 2.4% AMEX surcharge
T+C's here
Terms and Conditions 1. Membership Rewards enrolment is required (an annual fee may apply). Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards program available at membershiprewards.com.au/termsandconditions
2. Dependant on your American Express Business Card. Depending upon when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from your previous statement period.
3. Enrolment in RewardPay is required to enable payment for superannuation contributions. A 2.4% plus GST processing fee does apply.
4. Ozedi pricing is a flat monthly fee based on the number of employees. For more information please visit ozediready.com.au
Anyway when I read further in Ozedi web site it also mentions you can pay by paypal not sure if this is just the monthly fee or the whole super payment, and thus it seems avoiding the 2.4% surcharge.
The ozedi monthly fees don't seem too steep at first sight, but as I say I haven't read much of the small print.
I will read more later and I'm certainly interested if the paypal thing is a go.
Hopefully it helps others now that the other fiscal thread is nearly a dinosaur
