Hopefully they have more destinations and travel periods
than DJ's happy hour....

Bosses will be happy to see some staff stay after 4pm on a Friday

Correct me if I am incorrect here, but I am sure they have done somthing similar before, wasn't it "Rush Hour", but it failed....?

They will do this every Friday, so it is like DJ happy hour
but for 3 hours and only once per week, rather than once
every workday....

Thank Jetstar it's Friday!

Every Friday from 4pm-8pm (AEDT), Jetstar will have some seriously low fares on offer as part of our new Friday Fare Frenzy.

There will be a range of different routes on sale every Friday from now until Christmas.

Visit the sale page between 4pm-8pm today to see the fabulous fares on offer this Friday and don't forget to check every week - same time, same place - for all our Frenzy Fares.

Happy Friday Australia!

Indeed, just had the same problem. You can't optimise product sales online if your servers are clogged with traffic...Deathstar have been in business long enough to be able to predict traffic volume and configure accordingly.

I don't think Jetstar are that stupid because they would be well aware of the traffic on their website and while their website is down no one can get the fares they are advertising, so they save money. Now its either a great ploy or they are simply incompetent and haven't set their system up better.

Methinks simply incompetent - after all it's not just the advertised cheap fares that potential customers cannot access, but ALL of their product. Remember too that that folk might be attracted to the web site in the hope of a cheap ticket but still purchase a more expensive one...

..... or just get so pxx_'d off they don't buy and don't bother to come back again on the short term :!:

I did manage to book a Monday night OOL-SYD for $22, inc credit card surcharge. Shame that they don't allow BPay anymore.

It is a very *smart* idea.
Something that the others should copy, except Qantas, Won't cannibalize own range too much, as not reliable enough for business.

Why? Because one has a gut feeling aggressive Christmas peak pricing, and economic conditions, mean lots of unsold seats are still unsold- highlighted by Air NZ selling outbound empty seats for $75. And Tiger raising prices(to match others upping theirs), then dropping them closer to departure. JQ has so far skipped its Nov sale.

As for the JQ site being overloaded, it is either flat out incompetence or by design. Takes just minutes to proxy over to some hired (overseas hosted) static pages, and at US timezones, that capacity would be cheap. Cheaper still if it was not ball and chained to IE.

I do wish airfares would get progressively dearer as the plane fills, so forward planners are rewarded, rather than tripping over some fares are are more expensive than the regulars (eg Emirates sale cheaper than JQ, or skyhigh ML taxes).

The next step is 2 for one bookings, but one seat, and get a free unwanted ticket - Adelaide seems to be the cheapest destination at present.

$145 p.p (all inc) return to CHC for a weekend in May for me and the missus.
Not bad.
Still reckon they have the worst performing website in internet history.

AlphaVictor,

You obviously don't use the same 'Domain' service (is that the right term?) that I do.

There price is cheap as so is their site and service :!:

Sarcasm is not my strong point :-)
