If you are in the southern part of Germany, just north of Stuttgart there is the Auto and Technik museum at Sinsheim, and another part of the same museum at Spayer (a few km's away). I hadn't heard of it before, but it has a brilliant collection of all sorts of planes, vehicles, racing cars, military equipment, and more. I'll post some photos up as I have the opportunity, but I recommend you take a look at their website and try to plan a visit next time you're in the region. :D

From their website;
Welcome to the Auto & Technik MUSEUM SINSHEIM. We are inviting you to view more than 3,000 exhibits from all areas of technical history on more than 30,000 sqm of indoor space and in our open air ground. The exhibitions include a genuine CONCORDE from Air France and the Russian Tupolev TU-144, more than 300 classic cars, 200 motorcycles, 40 racing cars, the largest permament formula-1 exhibition in Europe, 60 airplanes, 20 locomotives, and much more.

In the historical city Speyer (only 40 kilometers distance from Sinsheim) the Technik MUSEUM SPEYER displays a variety of masterpieces of technology to be found nowhere else. Apart from a large collection of aircraft, classic cars, locomotives and fire engines, some of the highlights are an original BURAN space shuttle, the largest space exhibition in Europa, a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet, the U9, a former German Navy submarine and a gigantic Russian AN-22 cargo plane.
