I think it's a great idea but what's with this?

"We're very much into bringing 'surprise and delight' into the lounges" says Helen Gray, the airline's Head of Domestic Product & Service.

I thought for QF was more a case of 'surprise and enhancement' (away). This seems to be a bonus!

So this means the J lounges are open until the 30th December then. Good :)

Said the bishop to the actress? ;)

Nice work QF, just don't close the lounge after Christmas!

I thought it was the other way around? (That's what she said ;)).

Wonder if this means the business lounges won't be closed for cleaning like over last Christmas / New Year?

Great spotting Affers. Yes, the lounges will stay open this year. :)

Cheers!

So, apart from JohnK's Champage coughtail last Friday, how is coughtail Hour going? Someone else must have been to it by now, or have I missed that?

Is it a coughtail of the Day, which changes daily, or are there a few to choose from each day?

Mrs Rugby had an Aperol Spritz in Sydney on Melb Cup Day. It was the only option. She saw a few other punters trying it too.

Just had a dark and stormy in CBR (rum, ginger beer and lemon) with a sprig of mint.

Nice but if a drank a couple of those I'd be a bit tipsy

So anything for those of us who don't drink alcohol? Or are we shunted off to the Coke Zero dispenser? Surely there should be at least one alcohol free coughtail?

I don't imagine they've gone ahead and installed blenders; I imagine they're just using pre-mixed juices that cover the limited menu and are then adding some alcohol so they could probably leave that last step out for you.

I think it's a coughtail of the day not multiple coughtail choices.

While I'm sure our team would be happy to make a virgin version of the coughtail of the day, we're also offering the Ginger Mint Fizz as a non-alcoholic option. :)

With QF's on time departure record I will just miss out on trying today's coughtail in MEL. My flight is scheduled to board now

I have just finished my first coughtail - an Aperol Spritz ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1415774153.041198.jpg in the MEL J Lounge - while not something I would normally drink it was a nice change.

OT but I am disappointed that the contents of the Aurora Spa Botanicals hand wash bottles in the rest rooms has changed - I really liked the smell of the previous version. I hope Aspar change their mind and revert back to the original formula....

oh boy, i better make sure i get my 1200 then :)
