Why doesn't VA have an [Android] app?

I don't mean the entertainment app. An app to manage bookings and everything else. Check-in from the phone would be so much easier. My sister showed me the apps the Canadian airlines have and I couldn't believe they don't have them here. If they do I'm unaware of them and they are not in the Play Store.

It's only five years late.

Yep - VA has had an iPhone app for a while now which does what you describe.

Yep - VA has had an iPhone app for a while now which does what you describe.

I wouldn't have the foggiest how to search for a Google Play app from my Mac... it's certainly not a priority for me, but I would have thought if they had an iOS app they would also have an Android app.

VA is the only airline I fly that doesn't have an android app. They do have an iphone app which is ok but there are many android users out there. Even some of the LCC have apps!!

it never works anyway......try to go to itinerary and it fails every single time.

I have been using it for ages, is a slick app. Enables you to check-in and sends your boarding pass straight to Wallet/Passbook.

I find the iPhone app half hearted at best.. yes you can check in and get a boarding pass..

It cant even display points and status credits properly. SC always says 0 of 0 ( NULL ) and the points part is always blank..

And view Itinerary does not work for me as ozjuice says below.

I agree. It shows that I've been participating continuously in a Family Pool since last July - pooling has been cancelled, set up, changed over, cancelled etc several times since then, the status just never updates.

I dont mind the apple app; keeps track of my points and SC neatly and easy to check bookings and get mobile boarding passes.

Its funny they make it for apple and not android specially seeing as there is more android phones...almost more samsungs alone now then iphones. Maybe its something to with the ease of a creating an app for iphone?

When the app first came out I asked the virgin team why there will be one for andoid coming? And they said yes there will be our team is working on it now and ot check back later this year. I think that was nearly two years ago, I cant really understand why they wouldn't want to make one.

Considering the state of the VFF website, I'm not surprised Virgin hasn't put any money towards developing an Android app. Perhaps with their re-branding, it's on its way (fingers crossed).
