Managed to score a massage at about an hour's notice on a Sunday morning back in May.

Very nice Day Spa. The masseuse was listing some of her clientèle too (I asked) - Jon Bon Jovi, David Beckham, 50 Cent, to name just a few!

Cheers,
- Febs.

The way I see it, 2 hours before flight take off would be ideal. Enough time for a chance at a couple of treatments but not too much time in the lounge.
I'm not so sure about that; QF Int flights generally commence boarding ½ hour before scheduled departure so that's 30 mins or 25% of those 2 hours gone already.
  • Increase your chances by 40% by getting in 3 hours prior. The lounges are certainly a nice place for pre-flight preparation.

That is where I draw the line actually. I live 20 mins from the airport, so that extra hour could be spent on other things....

If you fail in the 90 mins to get a sessions, then you'd have to spend that in the lounge time and NO lounge is better than my bed.

The real  is that she touched 50 with her bare hands!

Beckham, on the other hand...

Hi all

Just wonder whether to get mrssimongr's hopes up for a massage/facial at SYD F lounge on Monday. We are on the 2:55 CX flight to HKG in J (CX100).

I have been wracking my brain to work out a way to guesstimate how busy the F lounge is likely to be at that time. I am not sure what other flights depart around that time from SYD...

We are planning on getting to the airport around 12PM :)

/me is starting to get slightly excited about The Big Personal trip finally :D

Cheers

And so I hope she now realises that the hard work and sacrifices you have put in doing all this travel really was for her benefit.
Yeah mrsdrron doesnt buy that one either!

Back in November, SWMBO was able to have a facial treatment prior to flying to NZ on QF25 (She's not into massages these days).

Success again - "hot towell facial" this time (not really my thing, but why not give it a go :)). Got there as the Spa opened at 9am, got a 10am timeslot (flight delayed til 11am).

Cheers,

Is this a frequent flyer forum or Womans Day forum?

It is a frequent flyer forum, and the First Class lounge (and what that lounge offers) forms part of that forum. I am using the QF Flounge for the first time in a few weeks and look to the advice people in this thread have offered, especially concerning the massage service etc as I intend to utilise the lounge to the utmost. I appreciate that a lot of OPs in this forum hold platinum status and can use the lounge when on international flights, but others like myself carefully read the suggestions posted.

I am sure that JohnK was jesting.I can see Chopper Reid now telling Australian to harden the F#$k up. Those that have the clip will know what I am talking about.

Yes, i am 100% sure he was joking :)
I love the chopper clips, and the movie. All very funny !

Errm, pretty sure JohnK's remarks were in response to the comment "Weekly massage, bi-facial, mani&pedi is an absolute must", and not just a general response to the discussion of the F Lounge (which we all love :D).

FWIW, I'm with you JohnK.

It was actually a response at that particular statement and not this thread. Manicures and pedicures.

To each their own and FWIW if they feel that they need it to be confident and do their job the best way they can more power to them!

For the record i have fortnightly massages, but that is more health related than anything. After 15 years cleaning windows i wouldn't be upright let alone alive! As for Mani's and Pedi's, im afraid im too ticklish for that!

Can someone please post a list of massages/treatments available at the QF F lounge spa?

thanks

Chucksta

A sample list was published in Qantas - the Australian Way Magazine in May Last year.

With all the delays recently, any reports of how crowded the Flounge is?

May be an greater/less chance to get treatments?

The longer the delay, the longer you have in the FLounge so the better the chance for a treatment ;)
