Pretty sure it's a bottle of water and snack for all?
You'll get more than bread and water in business... but not really a meal. How egalitarianPerhaps charging 4x the price with no lounges is a little excessive then?

Virgin Australia Business Class [Catering during COVID-19?]
Has anyone flown VA domestic Business Class lately. I’m flying home from Perth to Brisbane on 26 May Business Class via Melbourne ( no direct flights ATM ). I see from their web site they only serve snacks and water. Seeing as this is quite a long flight I need to know just what the snack is in...www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au
While complimentary water and a snack will continue to be served to all guests, at this time, and to reduce unnecessary contact between guests and cabin crew, additional food and drinks will no longer be available for purchase onboard. |
It's up to you - such minimum service was advertised before that email was sent out as well. But I think this post was before the latest email that I received on 12/06/20 which said:

Search this site for "comfort seat".The only advantage of business now is if there are 2 of you you need not sit next to anyone else.
In V and Q is there a way for a couple to book and pay for 3 seats in economy, so no stranger in the 3rd seat in the row-airline should be doing this anyway? Probably cheaper than 2 in business and not much different service wise now.

God I hope not ..... but I guess it will happen. Not looking forward to my next J VA trip. Noodles in a cup I guess..'Virgin Australia will retain its much-loved Business Class seats and exceptional service provided by its cabin crew, but will complete an end-to-end review of the Business Class offering before relaunching it in 2021. The review, done in collaboration with the airline’s crew, will ensure better alignment to guests’ needs, while maintaining the elements they love.'
Translation: We plan to gut the entire business offering because our 'value' focused customers do not appreciate a fine dining experience and are better served with a snack basket like US airlines. We plan to also offer complimentary cheap plonk so that you arrive with a headache, but no recollection of our dumbed down service standards.
Any idea what was in the snack box?Partner flew biz last week. Per-dwn-per. No lounges no platinum check in. Snack box and free booze. 4 pax in biz. Plane half full. One advantage he was second in queue returning Monday at WA airport quarantine exam and g2g scanning/temperature taking and was through quickly. Bit of a log jam eventuated after that. Could tell this by the luggage piling up and lack of crowds!
