This is precisely my experience. As a Plat I've called to get seats released weekly and they've failed consistently.
Oh, I had planned to resorting to the call up but that doesn’t sound promising!
 
June/July also see a lot of retirees and semi-retirees travelling to Europe.
Probably not via Jakarta.

But like we’ve said, these seats never got released. Not even whY rewards! It’s more like an omnibus “blackout” period.

But agree it is bad when availability is:

Another thought, they could be holding back availability so they can create a PR storm saying they're releasing x million seats for redemption. But, no that would be most unlike Qantas to do that.;)
