Hi, I have been flying with Qatar Airways in the last 4 years and I never have an issue getting my points in Qantas FF, most flights in Economy, only one in Business,
I floght from Perth to Madrid via Doha last March and the points didnt come up automatically, so I need to claim them, all claims were UNSUCCESSFUL - AIRFARE AND BOOKING CLASS NOT ELIGIBLE TO EARN. The booking was done in Economy and according to the tables it corresponds me 1500 + 2900 points and 15+ 30 status credits each segment, being Gold member i nthe following ones:
QR 901 March 6th from Perth to Doha
QR 149 March 7th from Doha to Madrid
QR 150 March 21st from Madrid to Doha
QR 900 March 22nd from Doha to Madrid

I sent all the booking tickets and the boarding passes with my passport and the details and they back to me with the same bullshit.
Dear Mr. Iglesias Escudero,
Thank you for contacting Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre. We hope this email finds you well and safe.
We appreciate your effort in providing us with the requested documents. However, we're unable to credit your account with Qantas Points for your travel with our partner airline as the fare type purchased is in a booking class that isn't eligible to earn Qantas Points.
For information about eligible booking classes for points earn on Qantas flights and partner airlines,

What can i do? this is unfair and an abuse of Qantas . With these guys is impossible to keep the status in my QFF

Help please!

What is the booking fare class for each segment? QR economy flights only credit to Qantas in fare classes K, M, L, V, H, B and Y. If you are booked in O, Q, N, S, T you'll earn nothing.

I cant see the booking AMEX did, they are useless, the booking ticket only says Economy no letter is showed!

If you booked online with Amex, the fare code is visible at the time of selecting flights - a search just now showed Qatar Economy coming up as S (which is not eligible). That fare code does not get listed in the email confirmation from Amex.

If you booked on the phone, you would have to ask. Booking Economy fares always runs the risk of the fare code not being eligible in partner FF programs especially if you don't check.

All I can think of at this moment is to call Amex Travel, give them your booking reference (for Amex, not Qatar Airways) and/or ticket number, then ask them to confirm the fare classes. Explain to them that you need this information to confirm for mileage earning purposes.

As a rule of thumb, if you booked this ticket online with Amex Travel and you selected the cheapest available Economy fare, unless it was a last minute travel, more than likely it will probably be booked in a cheaper fare class and hence will be ineligible to earn on Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Needless to say, given you said you have a history of earning on Qatar Airways with QFF, you must have been flying on more expensive (flexible) Economy fares (or Business, as you say).

Some airlines print the fare class on the boarding pass. I don't remember if QR does. My last flights on QR were checked through from AA, so were printed in the AA format.
Found some older QR boarding passes, which didn't have the fare class included, but those passes were pre covid, so the format may have changed since then..

Have to say, I don't know when the change was made, but Amex Travel itineraries that were emailed to you (after booking) contained fare class information on them (must be about 2-3 years ago).

Even when I viewed Past Trips on Manage My Booking online at Amex Travel, the information given is extremely minimal (much worse than the cut down email confirmation). All quite unfortunate.

I just found my company policy restric the flight fares and they book me a T class, which provides 0 points in Qantas, Great! so I will claim them in Qatar Airways to add at least something there....

You can also credit them to VA, which might be a better option if you're not already a QR member.

If you had your QF ffn in the reservation , QR (and VA) may reject the claim as "credited to another ffp". Even if the earning was zero. May need to get QF to "uncredit" these fights before another ffp will consider. Will not be easy

Usually when looking on line, before the flight, at QF manage my booking the fare class will show. Other airline mmb can show information:- UL, QR.

A broad guide (is not always correct). Check the airline web site. Where to Credit | Where to Credit Qatar Airways Flights in T Booking Class

Just to add a data point, QF has rejected my QR DOH-DXB and return flights flown in J A class, despite crediting the other sectors in that booking.
UNSUCCESSFUL - AIRFARE AND BOOKING CLASS NOT ELIGIBLE TO EARN

Just as well as I am probably better off crediting them elsewhere now that I think about it.

in J? Surely that's a mistake...

QR doesn't operate J between DOH-DXB, only F.

What was the actual code of your booking class? If they bumped you down to a Y code it might not have been one that earns on QF.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago traveling to Europe on Qatar. The outbound was fine received my points but nil on my return flight.I had no luck with Qatar and then spoke with the Qantas help desk who explained that Qatar is basically a difficult airline partner and it's up to them if they allocate points.I understand several years ago Qatar actively tried to get Qantas out of the Oneworld Alliance. So the two airlines have history.
So just check the fare codes as advised.
After that experience I signed up for the Qatar privilege club. Recently went to Europe and back with Emirates .I booked via my QFF account it shows upfront the points one will earn.No issues with points they were in my QFF account within 24 hours on completing each leg.
