International
B747 - J upper deck exit row window
A380 - J upper forward 'min-cabin' aisle
B777 - J forward aisle
A330 - J forward aisle
A320 - J forward aisle
Domestic
B767 - Y in the min-cabin forward config aisle - yes call me crazy
B737-800 - Y row 4 or exit row only aisle - everything else is not acceptable
Dash 8 - those little bug smashers can be a hooooot in a storm
B757 / MD80 - in first only - but I think that is for first SC earn
ATR72 - again fun in a storm

I'm sure I've missed a few but these spring to me with some recent flights.

And then a bunch of other prop planes - in storms, they really get the blood pumping and you know you are alive.

Favorite - A380
Hated - Beechcraft bonanza A36 (too many puke sessions on the Burketown-Doomadgee-Isa mail run)

From experience only:

Best QF 388
Worst QF 763 -ZX (ex BA) series .. no personal directional air vents

Best A380, pity Qantas couldn't add a decent seat pitch in Y.
Worst any version of a Metro, although I will say they are quick, to get you through those bumps faster.

Favourite: International A380, Domestic B767
Least favourite: B737.

Why is it when I book a flight that is scheduled to be a B767 I end up on a B737? Yes it's all shiney and new and sometimes I even get Row 1 but I would trade it for the B767 anyday.

Favourite - Boeing 747 hands down
Favourite Domestic - Any 767 (not including A330s as they are on limited routes)

Least Favourite - There aren't any although I do try to avoid some aircraft at times

Old time favourite - 747
New time - 380.....only due to the fitout
Despised - 737

Favourite: Boeing 747 - to me, that's what flying is all about... getting onboard a 747... as crazy as it sounds, I still prefer taking the 744 than the A388.
2nd favourite: A330 - not sure why, but I consistently get very good sleep on A330s, relative to other types.

Least favourite: A320 - nothing against the type itself - it's a pretty good work horse for its design and capacity, but the interior of most of them these days are being built with a sardine can in mind.

Best: A330-3, with the B747 a close second
Worst: B767 (any variant of this awful rust bucket)

Why does everyone like the 767 so much???

Maybe I just associate them as new and ancient an I'll take new (737) anyday over old (767).

A lot of people grew up in that era, and had a lot of contact with the type. Even now, it is still an excellent aircraft (assuming maintained properly, in terms of mechanical and interior). Despite its age and rather ancient design by today's standard, it is still an excellent work horse, and is very reliable for what it is. Quite a few airlines still fly them around too. To really see how successful it is, let's come back to this thread some days later, and see how many people would mention anything about the Airbus A300/A310...

Oh I understand and agree with all of that. I used to love the 767.

But i like new and modern, and in the context of QF, I don't understand the appeal from the FF perspective of the 767 when it's so dated in the cabin.

YMMV I guess.

QF's fault, really. Being based in SIN, I'm quite lucky to see some of the ANA's 767s with winglets, where each Y pax has a 9" touch-screen IFE and a power outlet.

What about the real workhorse?

Favorites from experience only (mainly One World)

Domestically the A330 that does the 7am MEL-SYD run
internationally J - tie between QF380 (12ef) and BA747 (62ak)

As posted, I don't like the ex BA 763's; I've spent too much of my life stationary in these horrid VH-ZX's while one problem or another was being attended to. (OH, did I mention the lack of personal directional air-vents?)
