It was absolutely bucketing down at 4:45am this morning on the way to airport this morning, could barely see 30 metres ahead when driving, but that cell had passed by departure time so wasn't too bad. We departed to the north this morning... very rare, but nice for a change. Good to see the wet has finally arrived, though I only get to enjoy it at the weekends lately.
I agree dfcatch.. even though it is a bit late this year (barely anything in January or February) it has hit with a bit more intensity than usual. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts. I'm just hoping the cyclones hold off so I don't have to try to make a dash home anytime... Driving out to Gordonvale yesterday and there seemed to be more water lying around than usual. For Thomatis to be cut and Yorkeys, that really normally only happens in the wake of a cyclone or a severe event.

Thanks Mark...if I'm caught in a cyclone, I will just blame......Should be clear by then I suspect.

....you, of course!
Made it in and out on Sat; apart from an occasional light shower, weather was fine but very humid. Walked from the top of the Castle Hill lookout (dropped off here by cab) to the Strand, and then into town, had lunch in a pub near Flinders St and cab back to airport in a touch over 3 hours. Thank God for the shower facilities at Tsv QC! Tsv city is not a place I will be visiting again in a hurry....:shock:Cool, and if you are still there Tuesday you can do it in person!
