Hi,

This is the seat map for my flight on Friday next week:

B737-700.JPG

Seems unusual to me, as I expect the emergency row to be row 12, and there are only 22 rows instead of 24.

Does anyone know this aircraft? Is row 2 really missing, or is just a glitch on the system?

VBU has been flying round with no Row 1 for a while.

VBY and Z and now flying around with 2 rows of J class and a purple divider just like the -800s. VBU and VBV will be refitted over the next couple of days.

My understanding was that there would be 8 seats, but only 6 sold due to galley space on the 700s.

I was on one yesterday with that seat map, and they were recovered PE seats, centre seats blocked, I had 2 F
Sure it's only a short flight anyway, SYD > BNE!

So would it be safe to say from the seat map that it's a J class seat?

Probably a recovered PE seat. Until recently, DJ weren't seating anyone in these seats at all (because they aren't the advertised J product and they apparantly don't have the wherewithal to sell PE anymore), but there has been confirmation from a few AFFers that they have in fact been seated there, but without the J service.

Thanks,

I'll report back when I've taken the flight. It's next week.

Yes, was initially in 1A, but as an "Emergency exit row" obviously someone paid for that and got put in 2F (Allocated the day before, it showed as 2F)
Also just a tip, if you are allocated row 1 on these, dont try to look at seating allocation, as once you click into the seat selection, the only way to get row 1 back is to pay the exit row fee, even as Gold/Platinum. Row 2 is fine anyway, still has good legroom, and LTA, plus middle seat blocked in 1 and 2 both sides, rest of plane looked pretty full.
Did it show 2F on the seat map?

I had clicked in the seat map at the time, and afterwards my seat was still 1D.

When I looked back during the week, the seat map changed to a normal 737-700 with all economy class, still showing my seat as 1D.

However, when I looked this morning, it shows a 737-700 with full business class cabin and my seat moved to 4D with an occupied seat beside me and 3E, 3B & 4B vacant. I'm a bit miffed now. I wouldn't have minded if they moved me to 3C/D.. :(

This could explain some of the shenanigans:...

Customer feedback must be working - I can't imagine they would have gone to the trouble of refitting the aircraft so close to withdrawal if they didn't have to.
Of course, withdrawal of the -700's had basically been scheduled for this year but has now been extended to the end of 2013.
