Think you know your Qantas cough? For all you folks still on holidays (and everyone else I spose) it's Qantas trivia time! The questions are weighted with a value (harder questions score more points) for a total of 20 points, ranked and rated accordingly:

0-3 points: Life Time Bronze (LTB)
3-5 points: Bronze
5-8 points: Silver
8-12 points: Gold
12-15 points: Platinum
15-20 points: Platinum One

Q1. I currently fly the world's longest route as a 747, but where did I fly before that? (1 point) HINT: The Rock movie was filmed here.
A.

Q2. Aside from SIN-LHR and SIN-FRA, which other routes does Qantas currently offer with fifth freedom rights? (hint: ACCC approval pending) (1 point)
A.

Q3. What is the largest size for First Class Pyjamas? (1 point) HINT: refer infamous deplaning incident.
A.

Q4. What was the route of the uncontained Qantas A380 engine explosion a while back? (1 point) HINT: Richard Champion de Crespigny
A.

Q5. How many massage treatment rooms in the Melbourne First Class Lounge have views of the Tarmac? (2 points) HINT: it's somewhere between 1 and 3!
A.

Q6. Which routes are served by the Boeing 717? (2 points) HINT: look at PER and think hi-viz
A.

Q7. How many miles and status credits would be earned on a First Class AA flight from ORD-MIA if credited back to your QFF account? (2 points) HINT/ADVICE: The Oneworld website and great circle mapper are both incorrect.
A.

Q8. In Australia, if ATC clear me to take off on runway 30, where am I? (2 points) HINT: Alice in wonderland Springs to mind...
A.

Q9. If originating ex-Australia (outside Australia) how many times can I re-enter Australia on a Zone 10 Oneworld Classic Award? (3 points) HINT: It depends... Multiple possible correct answers.
A.

Q10. What is the make and model of the bus that services the transfer between SYD international and domestic terminals? (5 points) NO HINT - I've got no idea!
A.

If anyone scores 20 points I'll shout them a drink from the FCL bar on our next JQi day run :) And FYI, I don't know the answer to one of these questions myself!

Have fun and happy New Year AFF!

Quit at the massage question.

I don't do them - so would have no idea. (was actually offered one today at the Mel flounge today - had a Verve instead :p)

Platinum One here - the only one I can't answer is the MEL F lounge massage room question as I have only been in the SYD F lounge and not MEL...

Hint for everyone else for Q10... it's not one of the mainstream bus manufacturers and they are an Australian company :)

For those self rated LTB and now on suicide watch, I've added hints to each question to ease your pain :p

Question ten hint, European and one of the QF buses was the first type of its model in Australia, starting with B7..., I don't believe the current transfer bus is Australian.

Edit Madrooster is correct the Vovlo B7s have been replaced by a European power plantwith Aussie body work. And it's not Ansair.

I think I made it to Bronze, but at least I got past life time bronze! ;)

With the 'enhancement' of the status levels and a clue or two I can now manage Gold.

Incidentally, I thought a clue to Q8 would have been just a capitol idea.

Red Roo, I noticed you browsing this thread just moments ago. How did you score??? If your not at least Gold I'd be worried :o

I do believe I made platium, that said some of those hints where a bit obvious...

Q10 was the one I got tripped up on, as I tend to be looking out at the aircraft id'ing them, not the bus (if I even chose to use it, last time I took the train as I prefer it)

Q6. Which routes are served by the Boeing 717? (2 points) HINT: look at PER and think hi-viz
A.
!

there are more than just those and one I've seen recently that doesn't seem obvious for hiviz. I'd self assess as bronze as well, based on top of my head knowledge.

Thanks for the clues, thay've helped boost my score to a respectable silver six.
I can now shed the shame and look myself in the mirror again.

Question 8 about runway 30 also has more than one correct answer.

Probably Gold.

A.
Not sure, I am thinking 2 US west coast cities, is this the classic 747s or a 747SP.

Q2. Aside from SIN-LHR and SIN-FRA, which other routes does Qantas currently offer with fifth freedom rights? (hint: ACCC approval pending) (1 point)
A.
What a strange question, currently offer then you say ACCC approval pending.

Maybe you could have asked a previous fifth freedom route, until Qantas figured they couldn't make money on them.

Q3. What is the largest size for First Class Pyjamas? (1 point) HINT: refer infamous deplaning incident.
A.

yep,

Q4. What was the route of the uncontained Qantas A380 engine explosion a while back? (1 point) HINT: Richard Champion de Crespigny
A.

I just finished the book so I should know.

Q5. How many massage treatment rooms in the Melbourne First Class Lounge have views of the Tarmac? (2 points) HINT: it's somewhere between 1 and 3!
A.

With or without the blinds down. :p

Q6. Which routes are served by the Boeing 717? (2 points) HINT: look at PER and think hi-viz
A.
What about the east coast.

Q7. How many miles and status credits would be earned on a First Class AA flight from ORD-MIA if credited back to your QFF account? (2 points) HINT/ADVICE: The Oneworld website and great circle mapper are both incorrect.
A.
I guess this is similar to DFW-ONT.

Q8. In Australia, if ATC clear me to take off on runway 30, where am I? (2 points) HINT: Alice in wonderland Springs to mind...
A.
Yep,

Q9. If originating ex-Australia (outside Australia) how many times can I re-enter Australia on a Zone 10 Oneworld Classic Award? (3 points) HINT: It depends... Multiple possible correct answers.
A.
I am thinking 2 countries in SWP, which may give you 2 different answers.

Q10. What is the make and model of the bus that services the transfer between SYD international and domestic terminals? (5 points) NO HINT - I've got no idea!
A.
Who cares.

I guess a good way to get the brain ticking, but you are being cheap for someone that gets 20, when was the last time you participated on JQi group run.

Markis10 reminded me of a group run a few months back, another AFFer I haven't met.

You missed it but it was when a certain group entered the F lounge with no boarding passes whatsoever ;), and it was the classic double.
