Why is the forum's search engine so difficult to use?

If I search for "election" in title only I only get three results:

But if I search for "federal" I get the thread I'm chasing "2013 federal election":

Similary, when I search for "early" I don't get the thread on strategy for early JQ check-in; when I search for "strategy" I do.

The problem is with vBulletin software - I surmise it's a compromise between indexing size and functionality.

Unless I have ONE key word to search for I generally do not use it.

Best option for me is to use the Navigation bar "Google" search ot the top right of every page, or indeed google.com with the "site:www.austalianfrequentflyer.com.au" prefix parameter.

I have a shortcut to that bookmarked: "<search "all these words"> site:www.austalianfrequentflyer.com.au"
