I was a HHonors Diamond for over 3 years and never received promotional emails from Hilton even though I had elected to receive them in my profile. I also had never received a membership card even after requesting one a number of times (and yes, I know you don't need a card to get the benefits).
I don't know why, but it seems that some members get involuntarily put on the "never to receive promotional emails" list. You will still get email confirmations when you make a booking but no bonus point offers etc.
There is a way to fix this via a flyertalk.com account. I did it and now get all the emails. Here's what I did after reading a post on FlyerTalk.
Send a PM to HHonorsRepresentative on FlyerTalk. Her name is Erin. Ask her to register you to receive promotional emails from Hilton.
This is the email I sent:
Hi Erin,
Could you please register me for promotional emails. My HHonors number is 123456789 and my email address is [email protected].
Thank you,
Add the following text in your email to save Erin asking you for it:
“As the owner of the Hilton HHonors account number __________ attached to the email address _____________, I elect to receive marketing messages from Hilton Worldwide and Hilton HHonors. If I have previously opted out from such marketing messages, I allow this email address to be re-subscribed.”
Also provide your full name.
Good luck! I now get the emails and I have a shiny new Diamond card.
