Hi there we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Villiage in September for 7 nights - I've heard that if you have status with Hilton they give you $10 credit per person per day so we are hoping to somehow get this to pay for breakfast etc

My question is how can I quickly earn status from Blue to Gold?

Thanks
Bec

Google Hilton Challenge
Or Amex Centurion

All are going to cost a lot more than $70 however

Citibank Prestige offers it also (again more expensive than $70)

I wouldn't bother trying to get HH Gold status just for the $10 credit. You will be better off going over the road for your breaky and it will cost a lot less than breakfast at the hotel including the credit.

I stayed there last year for 5 nights and don't recall eating breakfast there at all (HH Diamond). We did have dinner a couple of nights onsite at the ocean facing restaurant (can't recall the name of it atm) and Benihana's. There is an Ihop over the road and eateries at the Ala Moana shopping Center, plus Cheesecake Factory and other places pretty close by which do breakfast, lunch & dinner. Being a popular resort in a prime location, there really wasn't much status recognition at HHV.

For the life of me I can't work out to get gold through Etihad website or Hilton website - I got a Etihad gold match and would like Hilton Gold before I go to the US - anybody have any luck?

targeted email offer per the terms and conditions in the email I received. (Below). There is also a link in the email which contains the partial path below. Haven't pasted the full link with the codes at the end as they may be specific to me or identify me (?? Not sure about this).

Maybe you can call Etihad and request offer or call HHonors direct and ask. I would call the U.S. Number as they seem to sort out things faster.

not sure where to post this - if we get free Gold status with the citibank prestige / amex plat cards, how does it get further upgraded to diamond with subsequent stays? when i log into my account is says 30 stays, 60 nights which looks like i'll have to start from scratch as a "blue" member to get to diamond if i want to move tiers. is that right?
so it won't just be the difference between gold and diamond i.e. 20nights/10stays to move up to diamond?

That's correct. You start from scratch to get diamond.
