Auckland
Late May.
Diamond. Base room booked and no breakfast option selected in booking.

As diamond, offered full breakfast at Fish restaurant - buffet and off the card. No charge for coffee. There's no lounge of course. But still very good.

Perth Parmelia Hilton.
Late May.
Diamond status.

Once again no lounge so no alternative, but full free breakfast including made to order items. Not charged for coffee.

Cairns Hilton
Late May / early June.
Diamond.

Full breakfast downstairs offered, or with Anne in the lounge (I had both). The downstairs breakfast has slightly reduced in options and moved to self-serve coffee and pancakes. Fewer staff as well so I think a bit of cost cutting happening. But still pretty good with some different options catering to Asian tastes. Made to order items still available. No charge for coffee including take away.

Interesting breakfast rules at this property:
Full pay stay - free either at lounge(s) or restaurant for diamond members.
Points or points + pay - free only at lounge.
Didn't know that, ate at restaurant and later was charged full price for myself and all my guests (had a couple of rooms booked with points + pay). Lucky they forgot to give me the bill to sign so the huge fee had to be waived at checkout.
I hope no other properties have this strange breakfast rules which are totally unfair IMO.

Now that's a new one on me. I haven't heard of it before, thanks for the heads up. Remember though, a diamond member "officially" only gets a complementary breakfast for themselves and one other. Even though most of my stays have had the breakfast benefit extended to all guests in my bookings, Hilton Taupo did enforce the "two for breakfast" rule strictly.

Playing the devils advocate here, I think HH pays the hotels a pittance for point stays, compared to retail rates, so I guess some hotels may try to recoup as much as they can from the sundry folio charges.

Just confirming what others have advised recently - stays at Adelaide and HSW in the past week - full breakfast in main restaurants granted as a diamond member. On check-in in Adelaide the lady specifically crossed out a $29 charge for full breakfast (if chosen) on the Exec floor privileges summary - saying as a diamond that did not apply. Very vague as to what could be ordered off the card in Adelaide (maybe because of renovations). HSW a bit more accessible (possibly as I have been to HSW far more often).

So it seems HSYD is actually the odd one out. Have never stayed there and probably never will.

In both the HH and DT KUL I was offered breakfast in the dining area or exec lounge, "... as you are a diamond member".

Edit: Including coffee.

Just finished a few nights at hilton DT Dublin. Could have breakfast in EL or main rooms. Good thing is EL has Guinness on tap most of the day help yourself with a video of how to pour perfect pint.

HSW a couple of weeks ago.
Full breakfast for 2 downstairs at no cost other than $4.50 for a coffee. Next day we had breakfast downstairs and coffee upstairs.

Hilton LAX - continental in the Exec Lounge
Hilton MIA Airport - continental in the restaurant $10 upgrade for hot.
Hilton Barbados -continental in the Exec Lounge $15 upgrade for breakfast in restaurant.
Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki - $10 per day resort credit for using in food outlets. No option for breakfast included unless on your room rate.
