I am reviewing this apartment as part of my trip report http://www.australianfrequentflyer....tos/parts-portugal-spain-then-fasa-61547.html

The apartment is located in a restored 19th century building. The apartments are bright and modern apartments and located next to the iconic Bolhão Market. We booked via airbnb. We had not visited Portugal before so were were uncertain about locations and did a lot of reading before making our booking. The owner Jose was quick to meet us & used an ipad for photos of the local highlights that he then pointed out on a physical map. There was a very generous supply of shampoo, body lotion, toilet paper, 3 types of coffee, clothes washing detergent, spices, etc. Jose was also very good at pointing out the workings of the apartment. This apartment is very modern, clean & spacious- Wifi included, washer/drier, dishwasher, coffee pods, super comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities, microwave & plenty of kitchen gear if wanting to self- cater. We also get some dining recommendations. The area abounds with coffee shops/cafes/bakeries. The city markets are straight across the road for brilliant fruit for breakfast. The only downside is the noise carrying from within the building & the noisy floating wood floor. We are very centrally located & the smallish city means we can walk to everything.

I was in Porto in April and absolutely loved it.

Are you going to Coimbra? Well worth a look if you have time.

I was in Coimbra in April and thought it was quiet and pretty boring :)

Porto and Lisboa were fantastic though.

Yep went to Coimbra, 23rd May. Did a fair bit of walking & found the Uni area interesting & a Cultural Festival was on while we were there- will get to that in my trip report, sounds like there were a few of us around
