The Hilton Barbados has a faily good position situated on a point overlooking Bridgetown. You get either an ocean or bay view.So everyone gets a water view. The rooms are large and well apointed-it was rebuilt in 2006 for the cricket World Cup.
Check in was slow.Upgraded to the executive floor in the Lighthouse tower so an ocean view room.Received our 2 bottles of water but nothing else-we may have been offered a welcome snack as Room Service did knock on the door but I was just out of the shower and mrsdrron was asleep so I turned them away.No follow up though.
Executive lounge is poor.It appears they offer EL privileges to the majority of guests as floors 6-8 are ecec floors. You have to sign in and most of the room numbers listed appeared to be from non exec floors.
Breakfast was OK but no hot items.Evening canapes are not put out but you are asked what would you like and given 3 choices.never asked more than once.
Worse still it is an honour bar system. The only white wine offered was Hardy's Nottage Hill chardy at $US10.50 per glass.Evening hours are 5-7 pm for evening canapes. We found it much better to go down to the pool bar as half price drinks 3-6pm(though a limited selection). So a bigger range than the lounge at half the price. The food there was the best of the Hilton outlets.Typical pool offerings and we had the Hilton burger and a chicken and cheese sandwhich that were reasonable in quality and price-

Will give more in my trip report.
The other problem is service.Very ordinary at times. For example had the EL lounge staff book us a table at the Hilton's fish fry.Got there and no booking.Check out was an absolute joke and took an age.
Sadly no other option for this points addict.:(
